Christ-Centered Preaching

The average "Church" of today boasts itself to be a ministry of Christ-Centered Preaching. I'm sure you've heard the claim! They believe the centrality of Christ is an inexpendable feature of all true biblical Churches. Indeed! Yet, as is commonly the case, the significance of the 2nd Coming of Christ is a nonissue. These "Churches" attempt to promote Jesus centre stage while the 2nd Advent of Christ is an irrelevant part of the act.

Fearfully, this directly contrasts with the Pastoral Ministry of the apostles in the New Testament. For, this commonly neglected topic permeates the preaching and pastoring depicted in the Epistles! Really, it's inescapable! The sheer number of references to the 2nd Coming of Christ should bring the pastoral ministries of so called "Christ-Centered Preachers" everywhere to a staggering halt!
“the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” – 1 Thess. 3:12-13
“His Kingdom & Glory” – 1 Thess. 2:11-12
“at His appearing & His Kingdom” – 2 Tim. 4:1
“the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ” – 1 Tim. 6:14
“His Heavenly Kingdom” – 2 Tim. 4:18
“the glorious appearing of the great God and Savior Jesus Christ” – Titus 2:13
“the coming of the Lord” – Jas. 5:7

“the coming of the Lord draweth nigh” – Jas. 5:8
“at the appearing of Jesus Christ” – 1 Pet. 1:7
“the revelation of Jesus Christ” – 1 Pet. 1:13
“when His glory shall be revealed” – 1 Pet. 4:13
“when the Chief Shepherd shall appear” – 1 Pet. 5:4
“the power and coming of our Lord Jesus” – 2 Pet. 1:16
“Behold, the Lord cometh…” – Jude 1:14
“before Him at His coming” – 1 Jn. 2:28
“I will come unto thee quickly” – Rev. 2:16
“I will come unto thee quickly” – Rev. 2:5
“till I come” – Rev. 2:25
“Behold, I come quickly” – Rev. 3:11
“Behold, I come quickly” – Rev. 22:7
“behold, I come quickly” – Rev. 22:12
“Surely I come quickly” – Rev. 22:20
What's even more shocking is the context of these references! It is apparent that the 2nd Coming of Christ is a major topic of Scripture. Yes! But what's most important is that we understand "why" it is mentioned with such frequency in the pastoral rhetoric of the New Testament. In other words, we must discover the authorial intent that compelled the writers of the New Testament to speak so much about this topic.

In the pursuit, diligent study will lead to the discovery of many associated doctrines of Scripture. Namely, when, how, and why, John says, "the world passeth away" (1 Jn. 2:17); or, when, how, and why the 2nd Coming of Christ is “the End of all things” (1 Pet. 4:7). Perhaps you remember how the apostles asked the Lord Jesus, "...what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the End of the World?" (Matt. 24:3). In other words, we need to understand all that is associated with the 2nd coming of Christ. For, then, and only then, will we be able to comprehend the motivating factors that compelled the New Testament writers to speak so much about it.

One thing's for sure. When the apostles thought about the 2nd Coming of Christ, they weren't thinking about the meekness and humility exhibited in the 1st Coming of Christ. Rather, when Paul made reference to the 2nd Coming of Christ, he described it as "the Wrath to come" (1 Thess. 1:9-10). Why? Certainly, because Christ has something to be angry about! And, on this Day, unlike any other day, the LORD is going to execute judgment in the fury of divine wrath!
"that Great and Notable Day of the Lord" - Acts 2:20
“the Day is at hand” – Rom. 13:12
"the Day of the Lord Jesus" - 1 Cor. 5:5
"the Day of the Lord Jesus" - 2 Cor. 1:14
“the Day of Christ” – Php. 1:9-10
“the Day of the Lord” – 1 Thess. 5:2
“against that Day” – 2 Tim. 1:12
“in that Day” – 2 Tim. 1:18
“at that Day” – 2 Tim. 4:8
“against the Time to come” – 1 Tim. 6:19
“the Day of Visitation” – 1 Pet. 2:12
“the Day of Judgment” – 1 Jn. 4:17
“until the Day dawn, and the Day Star arise in your hearts” – 2 Pet. 1:19
“the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men” – 2 Pet. 3:7
“the Judgment of the Great Day” – Jude 1:6
“the Day of the Lord” – 2 Pet. 3:10
“the coming of the Day of God” – 2 Pet. 3:12
The responsibility is laid upon us to search the matter out. We need to secure “an entrance…into the Everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 1:10-11). How? Well, apparently, by the grace of God in Christ, the LORD will lead true believers to weigh the terms of divine acceptance and divine rejection on the Day of Judgment. Do you agree? This is what the grace of God teaches men (Titus 2:11-14)! For, it was written, "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished." (Prov. 22:3, 27:12).
“a Day in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man” – Acts 17:31
“In the Day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my Gospel.” – Rom. 2:16
“the Righteous Judgment of God” – 2 Thess. 1:3-12
“…the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom” – 2 Tim. 4:1
“the Righteous Judge” – 2 Tim. 4:8
“Behold, the Judge standeth before the door” – James 5:9
“Judgeth according to every man’s work” – 1 Pet. 1:17
“…who shall give account to Him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead” – 1 Pet. 4:5
“Behold, the Lord cometh…to execute judgment upon all” – Jude 1:14-15
“whose judgment now of a long time lingerith not, and their damnation slumbereth not” – 2 Pet. 2:3
“The Lord shall Judge His people.” – Heb. 10:30-31
Should we be surprised that true believers are devoted to "the apostles doctrine" (Acts 2:42)? My reader, what about you? Are you ready for "the Hour of His Judgment" (Rev. 14:7)? Perhaps you haven't duly considered what this Day entails because you were taught that "Eschatology" is just a side issue. Make no mistake about it, my reader: God wants us to understand exactly what is going to happen on this Day! Apparently, Paul taught the 1st Century Christians so much about the doctrines of the Last Days that, when speaking to the Thessalonians, he said, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night." (1 Thess. 5:1-2).

Warranting N.T. Apostolic Explanation

Perhaps you've noticed?
When reading the New Testament, have you ever marveled over how the Apostles were inspired to interpret or apply Messianic Prophecy? Or, when reading the Old Testament, have you ever marveled over how much Messianic Prophecy focuses on the 2nd Advent of Christ rather than the 1st Advent? Or, have you ever wondered at how fragmented and scattered 1st Advent Messianic Prophecy is throughout the pages of the Old Testament?

In times past, upon a simple and straightforward reading of the Gospel of Matthew or Paul's Epistle to the Romans, I would often be confounded at the use of Biblical Prophecy when the writers quoted the Old Testament. Of course, being a Gentile, my understanding of the Old Testament was outrageously deficient. I knew this much.

However, upon comprehending the ultimate intent of Messianic Prophecy as it will be fulfilled in the 2nd Advent of Christ, suddenly the apostolic use of Messianic Prophecy demonstrated in Matthew or Romans makes perfect sense. As follows, there are 6 Methods used by the Apostles to interpret or understand Messianic Prophecy; and, of those 6 Methods, the last is the most profoundly important to the current era of redemption, called, the Gentile Church Age.
#1) Exclusively the 1st Advent
#2)
Seemingly Exclusive to the Generation of the 1st Advent Albeit Superiorly Foretelling the Generation of the 2nd Advent
#3) Exclusively the 2nd Advent
#4) Seemingly Exclusive to History Albeit Partially Foretelling the 1st Advent
#5) An Indecipherable & Indistinguishable Blending of the Two Advents
#6) Seemingly Exclusive to the 2nd Advent Albeit Partially Foretelling the 1st Advent
As stated before, the 6th Category is the most profoundly important to comprehend. As demonstrated by the Apostles Matthew & Paul, among others, there are six countable ways that Messianic Prophecy foretells the 2nd Advent while, at the same time, these prophecies empower and make possible an operation of redemption in the current Gentile Church Age. How can it be?

As a fellow Gentile Convert of the current age of redemption, I plead for the exploration of these Mysteries as the Apostles understood them. For, not too many days hence, redemption will turn from the Gentiles to the Jews as accounted in Romans Chapter 11. Then, during the 70th Week of Daniel, the LORD will re-engage the record of ancient prophecy until every last word is fulfilled. Upon understanding the framework of Biblical Reasoning used by the Apostles, only then will we be able to realize the practical significance of these prophecies both now and in the time to come. More specifically, I speak of the Age-Ending Revival that will take place at the close of the Gentile Church Age. Are you ready for what's about to happen in the earth?

The Wilderness

The Doctrine of the Wilderness

There are two categorically different ways of defining the Wilderness in Scripture. One way is individual and purely spiritual regarding one’s personal experience with God (Definition #1). The other way is corporate and can be physical or spiritual, or both; and, whatever the case, it speaks of the revival of a special operation of glory for the establishment of Church Purity (Definitions #2, #3, #4, #5, #6).

Definition #1: Personal Spiritual Wilderness (Spiritual Desertification / Spiritual Famine / a Divine Plague) – backslidden believers of all ages are made to individually experience a wilderness via the evaporation of spiritual water (the Spirit of God) resulting in soul bareness or fruitlessness (this is the experience of individual backsliders rather than the corporate body of believers, thus it is not to be mistaken with the following definitions).

Definition #2: Wilderness Experience #1 – in a Corporate Physical Wilderness to the body of Israelites in the Exodus Generation, called, “the Church in the Wilderness” (Acts 7:38), the people collectively experienced the glory of God in a Physical Wilderness as a definitive precedent of the Rule of God among His chosen people (1 Cor. 10:1-12, Ps. 91; for the righteous, the Wilderness was a land flowing with RIVERS of WATER and raining the BREAD OF HEAVEN, while for the wicked it meant certain death).

Definition #3: Wilderness Experience #2 – in a Corporate Spiritual Wilderness to the body of Israelites, the national regions of Israel & Judah were invaded, conquered, taken captive, and dispersed by Assyria & Babylon of Old (Hos. 2, Ezek. 20, Hab. 3; for the righteous, the Wilderness was the wooing of LOVE in ROMANCE & the scaling of HIGH PLACES in RESTFULNESS, while for the wicked it meant certain death).

Definition #4: Wilderness Experience #3 – in a Corporate Spiritual Wilderness to the body of Israelites, the Jews / Christians collectively underwent the war-wrought captivity and or a systematic persecution of Rome (Matt. 24, Lk. 21, Mk. 13; 1st Century Spiritual Babylon according to Revelation 17:1-11; Christian Doctrine of spiritual prosperity in the current age of the New Covenant was forged in the parameters of this Wilderness Experience. Accordingly, loss is gain, death is life, poverty is riches, and humiliation is exaltation!).

Definition #5: Wilderness Experience #4 – in a Corporate Spiritual Wilderness to the body of Israelites, the Jews / Christians will collectively experience the war-wrought captivity and or systematic persecution of future Babylon (Rev. 12:6, 14; Rev. 17:12-18; for the righteous, the Wilderness will be a FEEDING or NOURISHING in a divinely prepared place, or, it will be a place of safety and freedom comparable to a MOUNTING UP on the WINGS OF EAGLES, while for the wicked it will mean certain death).

Definition #6: Wilderness Experience #5 – in a Corporate Physical Wilderness to the body of Israelites, like the Exodus out of Egypt, only now out of Babylon’s World in the aftermath of the fiery consummation, lo and behold: the surviving Israelites will voyage across a Physical Wilderness on their journey back to Jerusalem for the commencement of the Millennial Reign of Christ (and by this time every wicked Jew is already dead!).

75 Days of Great & Terrible Glory

The 7th Trumpet
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." - Rev. 11:15-19
As you can tell from Revelation 11:15-19, and onward, what takes place after the sounding of the 7th Trumpet is no small affair. These events take place in the time-period that Gabriel annexed to the last 1,260 days of this World’s present existence (Dan. 12:11-12)! These are 75 days of Great & Terrible Glory! In this short time period the Jews will be entirely converted, gloriously regathered, and permanently restored unto the Holy Land for the rebuilding of the City and Temple during the Millennial Reign of Christ! This one thing – the restoration of the Jews – was Daniel’s greatest subject of prayer and prophecy, and such was the case with all Spirit-filled Jews in the Old Testament. As an answer to Daniel’s prayerful longing the angel spoke the word: 75 days
Day 1,260  --> means that the 3 ½ year Great Tribulation (the 70th week of Daniel) is fully accomplished (Dan. 9:24, 12:7; Rev. 12:6, 14) and, likewise, this means that the prophesying of the Two Anointed Ones has come to a finish by way death (“We are immortal tillour work is done.” – Whitefield; Rev. 11:3-10); and, as has been proven heretofore, this also means that the Spiritual Temple of the Gentile Church Age has been gloriously restored and built to completion (“the fulness of the Gentiles be come in” – Rom. 11:25) to wit God is ready to turn to the Jews.

Day 1,290  --> means the annexation of 30 days to the allotted 1,260 days, a time period wherein the totality of Babylon is defeated and destroyed to wit “the abomination that maketh desolation” is no longer set up as of the 30th day (Dan. 12:11).

Day 1,335  --> means the annexation of 45 days to the allotted 1,290 days, a time period that is prophetically certified by Daniel 12:12to the intent that all men should know that there’s a blessedness yet to be accomplished that’s worth the wait (“Blessed is he that waiteth” – Dan. 12:12).
In summary, according to the revelation given to Daniel, all we know is that by Day 1,290 Babylon and her abominations are totally defeated and destroyed and, moreover, by Day 1,335 there’s a consummation of all unfulfilled blessings. Daniel was left largely unanswered concerning these things, this we know, but do you remember when the angel foretold how these things would be unveiled at “the time of the end” (Dan. 12:9) and therein “the wise shall understand” (Dan. 12:10)? This testifies to the fact that God wants the momentous occasion of these dates to be understood! Therefore, we, as the recipients of the New Testament, must labor to understand the “things which must shortly come to pass” in the Last Days (Rev. 1:1). The Book of Revelation was written so that we might read, hear, and keep those things that are written therein, “for the time is at hand” (Rev. 1:3)! With all false humility aside, we must re-ask and answer the ancient question of Daniel by the full record of Holy Scripture; and for us, this means a definitive explanation of Day 1,260, Day 1,290, & Day 1,335 as they relate to the restoration of the Jews! “O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?” (Dan. 12:8).

So, what important and inexpendable acts are to be accomplished in the approximate 27 days that remain before Babylon’s crushing defeat accomplished on Day 1,290? To promote meaningful reflection on the divine acts that God deems as precious investments of time in such a scenario as this, consider the following:
The Rapture – The 2nd Advent of Christ in the sky must be beheld by the totality of human nations and languages subservient to Babylon.

The Judgment – The appearance of the KING and the raptured assembly of the Kingdom, described heretofore, is the turning point of irreversible judgment upon backslidden saints: wherefore, behold, a Throne is set in Earth’s Sky!

Heaven Besieging Earth (the Vials) – The full volume of the wrath of God against Babylon, in Vials, consecutively and strategically poured out in the effect of a siege upon all of Earth’s inhabitants in hopes that the Babylonians would repent and surrender to Heaven’s invasion.

The Gathering (6th Vial) – An exceedingly plagued World of Nations suffering under Five Vials of divine wrath do meanwhile, in anger that the Day of the Lamb has come, gather and amass the strongly deluded armies of Babylon’s Empire under the balcony of the enthroned Lamb’s Heavenly Assembly of raptured saints and holy angels!

The Shaking (7th Vial) – With the amassed strength of Babylon’s World gathered into one army on location, the stage is set for the conversion of the Jews.

The Winepress – The deluded armies are made to fear what they were formerly unafraid of, they are made to flee and scatter from the place they rushed in gathering for war, and they are made to weep and wail while running and hiding!

The Armies of Heaven in Worldwide Battle – The Armies of Heaven, as instruments of divine vengeance & channels of divine fury, spoil the Jews from Babylon’s World (albeit not without clemency to the Babylonians resulting in a tumult in the Empire) in a display of glory for the establishing of an Everlasting Covenant.
In the accomplishing of these events, the surviving inhabitants of every nation are made to look upon a brave new world; albeit, one much different than humanity had in mind. Come Day 1,290, the fictional plots of pastime novels will be forgotten. The bounding strides of the global elite who aspired to achieve godhood will know themselves to be but men (“Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.” – Ps. 9:20). Thus, the unimaginable will be realized at the Defeat of the Antichrist & Babylon (Dan. 12:11). Yet, with 45 days still to go before the End, the greater part of time is reserved for the realization of things much more wonderful.

So, what important and inexpendable acts are to be accomplished in the 45 days that remain before the Triumphant Entry of Christ into Jerusalem accomplished on Day 1,335? To promote meaningful reflection on the divine acts that God deems as precious investments of time in such a scenario as this, consider the following:
All Kindreds Wail! – A day of weeping & wailing so universal, it is comparable to the miseries of those in hellfire; and, yet, being upon earth, there’s hope for the trembling mourners.

Joy for Mourning! – The mourning of those who’ve been impoverished under divine affliction precedes the richest comfort of beatific joy.

Consummation & Restoration – The death of the dead and dying is for the living; the apocalyptic end is for a new beginning.

Proclamation Before Desolation | Good Tidings Before Liberation – The proclamation is for the people who will survive the desolation; thus, the unbelieving refusers will realize the good tidings in the liberation.

“While He is Near” – Isa. 55:6 – The loud & voluminous voices of the Last Days will be heard worldwide for the nearness of God in the assembly of nations.

A Treacherous Journey | The Point of Conversion – In the most testing circumstances of the most treacherous journey, contrastingly, the converting Jews won’t complain; so much, the rather, in the experience of life from the dead, their tongues will be loosed to proclaim the glories of the Holy One of Israel!

Light to the Gentiles | The Law & God’s Witnesses – In the progressive & climactic conversion of the Jews, the dark night of universal sorrow will be awakened by the dawning joy of a new day.
As the reader surveys some of the great themes of the Last Time, to say the least, it should serve as an eye-opening experience: like walking through the golden hallways of prophetic futurity to gaze upon the exploits of a superior age, lo, we are led down the final boulevard of Redeemed Mankind! Then, at last, the Triumphant Entry of Christ into Jerusalem on Day 1,335.
