The Eternal Worms of Hell

During a discourse in Capernaum, in Galilee, Jesus Christ spoke about the condemnation of notorious offenders in Hell (Mk. 9:42-48). Condemned souls will be subjected to the torments of unquenchable hellfire! Warnings like this were commonplace in the preaching of the Messiah. However, something was different this time. The Lord proceeded to describe the torment of sinners in a marvelous and unforgettable way. Certainly, this was spoken to frighten the people. Motivation is needed to flee the wrath to come! This is the only recorded place where the Son of God spoke about the eternal worms of Hell.
“…And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into Hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into Hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into Hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” – Mark 9:42-48
Love incarnate desires mortal men to comprehend the torment and suffering of sinners in Hell. Specifically, the Son of God desires to bring to our attention two things: unquenchable fire and undying worms. Following this order, our exploration will begin with the fire and conclude with the worms.

The Unquenchable Fire of Hell

Christ was compelled to speak about the unquenchable fire of Hell in Capernaum (Mk. 9:33). It had become a stronghold of scorners and mockers. While it is true that the Messiah wouldn’t allow his closest friends to be ignorant about the torments of Hell (Lk. 12:4-5), the Lord was particularly troubled for the people of Capernaum. On another occasion, Jesus Christ said to Capernaum, “…it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee” (Matt. 11:23-24). The Jews of Capernaum were shocked! For some perspective, this is what Jude said about Sodom and Gomorrah under inspiration.

Sodom is a Historical Example of Hellfire

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” - Jude 1:7
Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Cities of the plain, became a living Hell on Earth in real time. Literally, the same kind of fire that is burning in Hell and the Lake of Fire rained down upon these cities (Rev. 14:10-11, 19:20, 20:10, 21:8). We are talking about “fire and brimstone” (Lk. 17:29, Gen. 19:24) – a very specific fire that comes from burning sulfur stones called brimstone. Furthermore, with one glimpse of the eyes, lips, tongue, and breath of Jesus Christ during the 2nd Advent War, and it becomes clear to everyone that this same fire will be at work in the End of the World (2 Thess. 1:9, Rev. 1:14, Isa. 30:27-28, 33, 2 Thess. 2:8, Isa. 11:4, 66:15-16).
“Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of Heaven;” – Gen. 19:24
This unique kind of fire was chosen by God to be an “everlasting fire” because of how it inflicts torment and “suffering” upon its subjects (Matt. 25:41, Jude 1:7). This much can be derived from history in the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, because it’s the one and only “example” of human “suffering” that accurately depicts the power of “eternal fire” in real time (Jude 1:7). The destroying power of this fire should strike fear in the hearts of all mankind (Rom. 9:22).
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.” – Matt. 10:28
El-esh-oklah
Deut. 4:24, Heb. 12:29; Ex. 33:3, 5,
Lev. 9:23-24, 10:1-2, Num. 16:35
In the Bible, the wrath of God is described as something being “kindled” (Ps. 2:12, Num. 11:1-3, Ps. 78:21-22), something waxing “hot” (Ex. 32:10), or something that is becoming “fiery” (Heb. 10:27). Also, when people or places have been destroyed, specific attention is given to “the heat” of the fire in how it is “devouring” (Deut. 29:23-24, Isa. 33:14). The “fervent heat” of the fire in its ability to “destroy” is the subject of focus (Matt. 10:28, 2 Pet. 3:11-12).

The temperature of a fire determines its ability to burn, melt, dissolve, or vaporize things with respect to solids, liquids, and gases. Sulfur burns with a blue colored flame that can reach temperatures approaching 1600 °C. The color of fire changes with the increase of heat as follows: red (525-1000 °C), orange (1100-1200 °C), white (1300-1500 °C), & blue (1400-1650 °C). For some perspective, organic material burns and vaporizes at 600-650 °C. The crust of the earth melts at 1200 °C. The hotter it gets, the more things will burn, melt, and dissolve, and as a result, more chemical reactions will take place.
Picture
Remember Lot’s wife? She wasn’t the only one who turned into salt on that fateful day of hellfire! We are talking about salt in the form of Calcium Sulfate. According to Deuteronomy 29:23-24, “the whole land” became nothing but “brimstone, and salt, and burning”. This is why Peter brought attention to the “ashes” of Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet. 2:6). Seeing that a furnace of burning sulfur can reach temperatures approaching 1600 °C, a massive rainfall of fire and brimstone coming down upon the Cities of the Plain would have “destroyed them all” in an extraordinary way because of how things would be turned into Calcium Sulfate (Lk. 17:29). Moses David, with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, has provided a scientific explanation of this chemical reaction.
The Buildings
A heavy storm of fire and brimstone like this would have burned, melted, and vaporized the Cities of the Plain, and in the process, it would have turned the buildings into Calcium Sulfate.
“Ancient buildings are made from stone, mortar and limestone. Upon heating, calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide will lose carbon dioxide and water, leaving behind calcium oxide. Calcium oxide reacts with burning sulfur to form calcium sulfate as follows: CaO + SO2 + ½O2  → CaSO4” – Dr. Moses David, PhD in Chemical Engineering
The Bones
A heavy storm of fire and brimstone like this would have burned, melted, and vaporized the Cities of the Plain, and in the process, it would have turned the Calcium Phosphate of every person into Calcium Sulfate.
“Bone is comprised of Calcium Phosphate, which reacts with Sulfur Trioxide gas at elevated temperatures to form Calcium Sulfate and Phosphorous Pentoxide. Phosphorous Pentoxide sublimes at a rather low temperature of 360 °C, and thus will not remain with the bone but will be vaporized. [Ca3(PO4)2 + 3SO3 = 3CaSO4 + ↑P2O5]” – Dr. Moses David, PhD in Chemical Engineering
Some Sodomites may have temporarily escaped the rain of fire because they were hiding in the rubble of their broken-down houses. Others may have attempted to flee on foot while taking cover under whatever was available for the meantime. But there were no survivors! No one could escape. This is due in part to “the smoke of their torment” (Rev. 14:11, 18:18, 19:3, Isa. 34:10). People were being seized and arrested by the toxic gas that is released from burning sulfur.
“Sulfur burns in air to form sulfur dioxide and sulfur trioxide gases…Sulfur dioxide reacts with water and oxygen in the presence of heat to form sulfurous acid. Sulfur trioxide reacts with water and oxygen in the presence of heat to produce sulfuric acid. Therefore, the moisture on the skin of the Sodomites would immediately turn into sulfuric acid all over the body in the conditions present at Sodom and Gomorrah. The moisture in the eyes would turn into sulfuric acid in the eyes! The moisture in the nose, mouth, and lungs would also turn into sulfuric acid! It would be rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream within minutes according to scientific research (Dahl (1983)). The death of an average Sodomite was accompanied by much suffering due to the extreme chemical effects involving strong acidic reactions in all parts of the human body.” – Dr. Moses David, PhD in Chemical Engineering
The fate of Sodom and Gomorrah gives mortals a glimpse into the “suffering” of Hell (Jude 1:7). A thorough study of this example proves to be a powerful exercise, as it brings into view the sights, sounds, and smells of this hellish place. However, in Hell, the fire is never quenched (Mk. 9:42-48)! Similarly, Christ said, “their worm dieth not” (Mk. 9:42-48).

The Immortal Worms of Hell

Some theologians and commentators believe that the immortal worms of Hell are metaphorically representing the eating of a guilty conscience in the souls of the damned. I find this interpretation to be edifying, howbeit unbiblical, because it omits the clear testimony of Job 7:5, 17:14, 18:13, 19:26, 21:26, 24:20, 25:6, 33:22, Ps. 49:14, Isa. 14:11, 51:8, 66:24, Mk. 9:42-48, & Acts 12:23. Interpreters should know that Jesus Christ was quoting from Isaiah 66:24 in Mark 9:42-48 when He spoke about the worms of hellfire. Therefore, arguably, we should pay special attention to what Isaiah has to say about worms.
“Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to Sheol, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.” – Isa. 14:9-11
Isaiah spoke again about hellish worms when he presented to readers the ultimate humiliation and deglorification of the Antichrist in “Sheol” / “Hell”  (Isaiah 14:9-11). The Man of Sin can be identified in context by the royal title, “the King of Babylon” (Isa. 14:4). In the storyline of the prophecy, all the inhabitants of Hell are astonished to behold the Antichrist being eaten by worms! What about you?
“Hell…Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” – Mk. 9:43-44, 45-46

“Hell Fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” – Mk. 9:47-48

Mysteries like these are only disclosed through a close study of Holy Scripture (Prov. 25:2). Jesus Christ was quoting from Isaiah, and Isaiah was quoting from Job, as is customary in the Bible. Scripture interprets scripture! Also, sometimes a correct understanding of “earthly things” is essential for our comprehension of spiritual things (Jn. 3:12). Things in nature are sometimes reflected in the spiritual world, or vice versa. This is evident in a simple comparison of Isaiah 14:11 and Job 21:26.

The Mortal Worms of Death

“They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them” – Job 21:26
In nature, the maggot is spawned from the dead before it eats its gory meal (Acts 12:23). It has earned the name, “the firstborn of death” (Job 18:13). The entombed eggs hatch and the worms go to work on the dead body, and then it is only a matter of time until the body is reduced to dust. Can you see how the very existence of the worm is intertwined with death? These creatures are the mortal worms of death.
“Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.” – Ps. 49:14
The purpose of God in creating these worms cannot be fully realized without first comprehending what the Bible teaches about death as a divine punishment to sinners. God made the world for mankind (Gen. 1:26-31, Prov. 8:30-31, Ps. 115:16, Isa. 51:16). Originally, God was envisioning a world where mankind would live forever and never see death (Gen. 2:9). But as soon as Adam and Eve sinned, on that “day” they spiritually died (Gen. 2:17), and now the whole human race has to suffer the consequences. “For the wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23).
“…for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” – Gen. 2:17
In Adam we are all born spiritually dead (Rom. 5:12-14, 8:6-8, 1 Cor. 15:22, Eph. 2:1). Those who are spiritually dead are doomed to physically die (Heb. 9:27). God doesn’t want sinners living forever on Earth in the Garden of Eden by virtue of the Tree of Life, so Adam and Eve were banished from paradise (Gen. 3:22, 24). This was done to enforce the judgment that was already imposed upon mankind in the words of Genesis 3:19.
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” – Gen. 3:19
Divine arrangements were made to deglorify sinners into dust. Medically speaking, a man physically dies when his heart stops. Biblically speaking, a man physically dies when the soul or spirit of the person departs from the body (Gen. 2:7, 25:8, 17, 35:29, 49:33). God then dispatches angels to go and seize the disembodied souls of these sinners to cast them into Hell (Matt. 22:13)! But what about all the bodies? The due process of justice isn’t complete without something being done to the bodies of sinners. Lovingly, God made the Earth for mankind. Angrily, God takes the souls of sinners away from the Earth through death. And God appointed the worm to take away the bodies of sinners from the Earth.
“The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.” – Job 24:20
The Creator designed creation to preach sermons to mankind. The worm sweetly feeding on the dead carcasses of wicked sinners is a process that satisfies the wrath of God. The world is made better by one less sinner. The holy heart of God is cheered at a little less sadness (Gen. 6:7, Ps. 104:35).
“Let the sinners be consumed out of the Earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.” – Ps. 104:35 (Ps. 104:7, Job 26:5)
Our world would be littered with the dead bodies of sinners if it weren’t for the destroying work of decomposers like worms and bacteria turning men into dust. The worms are ministers of death whose work is “corruption” (Job 17:14). They do not feed on living flesh. They only eat dead flesh – we are talking about rotting and bacteria-infested flesh! They even eat the bacteria that is in the flesh. Coincidentally, the primary bacteria that also works to decompose a human corpse, proteobacteria phylum, looks like maggots under a microscope. The bacteria comes from the gut and digests the dead body from the inside.
“Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.” - Job 33:22
The decomposers of the dead are called, “the destroyers” (Job 33:22). Visibly or invisibly, the worms utterly “destroy” the bodies of sinners until there is nothing left (Job 19:26). The presence of maggots rapidly increases every minute as they “devour” the skin, flesh, and bacteria of the rotten corpse (Job 7:5, 18:13, 19:26). This process continues until the dead body is literally covered with maggots; as Job said, “They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them” (Job 21:26). Have you ever seen it in real life? The body is literally concealed under a thick layer of worms like a piece of clothing (Job 7:5).
The worm is one of the smallest of God’s creatures. It is harmless to the living and defenseless when attacked. Nevertheless, it is a fierce consumer of the dead! The dead are violated by the worm. A corpse is defenseless before the worm. And the rotten meal is sweet to the worm! These are tokens of divine wrath: “…the worm shall feed sweetly on him” (Job 24:20). Unless you have beheld the worm at work you couldn’t possibly understand. When the worm meets with mortal men in the end, this can only mean one thing: humiliation. Death is the deglorification of sinners. The worm defeats them! God is demonstrating divine wrath in real time through creation. He that hath an ear, let him hear.

By design, the first death is teaching us about the second death. The tokens of divine wrath that accompany the first death are harnessed by God and adapted to meet with tormented souls in Hell. Essentially, it is a second death (Rev. 2:11, 20:6, 14, 21:8). Fearfully, the destroyers of the first death are present in the domain of the second death. Jesus Christ called these creatures of Hell, “their worm” (Mk. 9:44, 46, 48). An army of hellish worms is summoned by God to bite, gnaw, and feed on sinners.

A benevolent God forces sinners to encounter the rotting corpses of dead things as they go about their business in their earthly lives. It is a medicine to the soul (Eccl. 7:2-5). It would do sinners good to take a long hard look at the unsightly mess of rotting death: see how it looks, imagine how it feels, and be nauseated with horror at the smell! We are forced to look on the first death, even as all men will be made to look on the second death (Isa. 66:24). There we shall see worms, as instruments of divine wrath in the first death, employed by God for a mighty work of eternal destruction. Herein, God’s wrath will be forever satisfied in the horrifying destruction of transgressors.

The Giant Worms of the Abyss

God is the master of typology. The Law of the Old Testament is a Theater of Typology. A good interpreter will understand the mysteries. Similarly, God is a master of metaphors and analogies. Divine genius regularly uses physical things in nature to reveal something unique about the invisible world of spiritual things.
Night & Day
The ugly nocturnal creatures of the night, like rats, possums, snakes, bats, moths, and crickets, remind us of the danger that lurks in the spiritual darkness of the world (Ps. 104:20, Isa. 45:7, Job 26:13). The colorful creatures of the day, whose melodious sounds fill the air, remind us of God’s goodness and mercy, and the heavenly blessings of the Kingdom of God (Ps. 30:5, 110:3, 2 Sam. 23:4, Lam. 3:22-23).
The Heavens
Historically, looking up into the sky, mortal men have seen with their own two eyes how the Heavens reveal “the glory” and “power” of God (Ps. 19:1, 150:1, Isa. 40:26; 2 Cor. 12:2). The sustained brightness of the sun, moon, and stars for thousands of years demonstrates the “eternal power” of God (Rom. 1:20; Ps. 89:28-29, 36-37). Something visible and finite in nature is teaching us about something invisible and eternal in the third Heaven (2 Cor. 12:2).
Hellish Creatures in the Deep
Historically, looking down into the ocean, mortal men have been unable to see much except a void of darkness in the deep. Jonah the Prophet went deeper into the oceanic abyss than any living man had ever gone before, but he couldn’t see anything because there was no lookout window in the belly of the whale. Nevertheless, under inspiration, he felt as though he went as close as possible to Hell - closer than any living man had ever gone before - and thus he cried out to God for the resurrection power of salvation (Jonah 1:17, 2:1-10, Matt. 12:38-40). Speaking of under inspiration, as a type of Christ, Jonah said that he was in “the belly of Hell” and surrounded by the bars of the earth (Jonah 2:2, 5-6).
“And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of Hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.” – Jonah 2:2

“The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.” – Jonah 2:5-6

The Bars of the Pit: Job 17:16; The Bars of the Earth: Job 2:6; The Gates of the Grave: Isa. 38:10, 17-18; The Gates of Death: Job 38:17, Ps. 9:13-14, 17, 107:18; The Gates of Hell: Matt. 16:18
Do you understand the sign of Jonah (Matt. 12:38-40)? Had there been a window in the belly of the whale, and lights to illuminate the darkness, like in modern submarines, then Jonah would have certainly seen something hellish in the abyss. Only recently has modern technology allowed us to see into the deep, and everyone around the world has been shocked to behold the creatures that were hiding in the darkness. Literally, people are frightened at the sight of them because the fish really do look like demons! This is no coincidence.
Technically, the deepest parts of the ocean are called Ocean Trenches, but the heathen have come to call this place, “the abyss”, without even knowing that this word in the Greek was exclusively used as a name for Hell in the New Testament (G12 | ἄβυσσος, abussos; Rev. 9:1-2, 11, 17:7-8, 20:1, 3, Lk. 8:31, Rom. 10:7). Again, this is no coincidence. Somehow, people are unanimously agreeing that this place is like Hell! As it is written, “There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” (Ps. 19:3). The scary characteristics of the physical are teaching everyone about something spiritual.
The Giant Worms of Hydrothermal Vents
In 1977, a submarine mission in the deep stumbled upon hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. The water coming out of these vents is alien to earth. Scorching hot water about a hundred degrees shy of fire is coming up from the underworld! Actual fire burns at 525 °C. This water is coming out at 371 °C. But the highest temperature ever recorded at the vents is 464 °C! This is a temperature only 61 degrees short of fire. This is like liquid fire coming up from the underworld! And the water really looks like the smoke of a fire on earth in how black clouds rapidly ascend into the atmosphere. The scenes look hellish.
Are these the chimneys of Hell? The hot water from these vents doesn’t boil because of the immense pressure at the bottom of the ocean. Under these unique circumstances of heat and pressure, the water somehow becomes saturated with sulfur, among other minerals, and when it encounters the extremely cold water at the seafloor, then precipitation releases the minerals in a liquid smoke. Nearby the vents, scientists were amazed to find a large quantity of unknown organisms. Previously, no one believed life could exist at such depths of darkness. More importantly, scientists were shocked to see giant worms situated directly around the hydrothermal vents.
“Hydrothermal vents are thought to form when seawater percolates down through fissures in the ocean floor at the juncture of spreading centers or sliding tectonic plates (e.g. mid-ocean ridges, ocean basins, hotspots). The cold seawater is then heated by hot magma and reemerges after being heated to over 700 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot seawater in hydrothermal vents does not boil because of the extremely high pressure at the depths where the vents are formed. When the extremely hot water from the vents mixes with the near-freezing seawater, minerals such as sulfur precipitate out and form smoking chimneys on the seafloor.” – Dr. Preethi Morris
The giant worms, named Riftia Pachyptila, mount themselves in a fixed position on the rocks surrounding the chimneys of sulfur smoke. As larva they swim to a location of their choice nearby a vent because they want to inhale the poisonous smoke! Somehow they thrive in a hellish environment of death. “The worms have the highest growth rate of any known marine vertebrate; they can grow to 1.5 meters in less than 2 years” (Dr. Preethi Morris). Large colonies of worms have been found that stand over 6 ft tall.
Why are there so many fields of hydrothermal vents on the seafloor? Where does all the sulfur come from to produce a constant effusion of black smoke? The location of Hell is at the center of the Earth (Jonah 1:17, 2:1-10; Matt. 12:38-41; Eph. 4:7-11, Acts 2:24-36, Ps. 63:9-10, Ezek. 31:14, 15, 18, 32:18, 24). This undoubtedly has some kind of impact upon the underworld. Granted, it is a supernatural place that is full of burning sulfur, but we have Sodom and Gomorrah as an outstanding example (Jude 1:7). The fire and brimstone that was rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah was a supernatural fire, and obviously this sulfur had a major impact upon the earthly environment of that land (Gen. 19:24). The same is to be expected of the underworld. Hell is the most likely source of all the sulfur that permeates the magma of the Earth.

Not everything in the visible world is supported or supplied by something in the physical universe (Heb. 11:3). There is an overlap between physical and spiritual things in the universe. All things considered, the hydrothermal vents really could be called the chimneys of Hell. These vents, as the springs of the Sea, really could lead to hellfire! In other words, this could be the hallway that leads to the Gates of Hell. If so, then entering the springs of the Sea is something genuinely comparable to entering the Gates of Hell. This comparison is strongly suggested in Job 38:16-17.
“Hast thou entered into the springs of the Sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?” - Job 38:16-17
Imagine yourself as a disembodied soul with all of your normal senses at the bottom of the ocean. Suppose that you were permitted by God to go on a personal voyage “in the search of the depth” (Job 38:16). Could you remain calm in the midnight zone of darkness at the bottom of the ocean? Would the hellish creatures swimming around you make you turn back? Being confronted by the giant worms, would you still venture further into the springs of the Seas? Upon directly encountering the liquid fire and sulfur smoke, would you still go deeper and deeper into the spring to see what comes next? Most people with a conscience would turn back for fear of encountering the Gates of Hell.

Biblical evidence strongly suggests that the sulfur smoke coming from the magma is originally sourced from Hell. And these vents are a marvelous attraction to the giant worms of the abyss! Why? The worms have no mouth or digestive system. The red plumes of the giant worms act like gills for inhaling the sulfur smoke, and this is essential for their existence.

Remember how maggots live to feed on the bacteria-infested flesh of the dead? The giant worms of the deep live to indirectly feed on the sulfur smoke that is coming from the domain of the dead. How? Each of their bodies are filled with the presence of a trillion bacteria. Through the help of the bacteria, and the inhaled sulfur smoke, a chemical reaction called chemosynthesis takes place that produces glucose for the worms.

“The worms contain a plume that acts like a gill to acquire CO2, O2, H2S, and HS-. These gases are transported through the worm’s heart into the respiratory system to be distributed to the chemosynthetic bacteria that live inside of the worm. The worm’s tube-like trophosome contains bacteria acquired through the body wall during the larva stage. These bacteria convert hydrogen sulfide into reduced carbon compounds such as glucose, which are used for an energy source. This reaction is performed by chemosynthetic bacteria which convert sulfide into ATP, and NAD(P)H through the oxidation of sulfide, and then fix carbon dioxide into glucose through the Calvin Cycle using the energy substrates.” – Dr. Preethi Morris
A byproduct of these chemical reactions is sulfur crystals. Literally, the trophosome of the giant worms is full of sulfur crystals! This is astonishing evidence that the worms are indirectly feeding off of the sulfur smoke. Maggots live to eat dead sinners. The giant worms of the abyss live to inhale the smoke that is coming from the torment of dead sinners in Hell! And they do this indefinitely, while showing no signs of mortality that science can measure. The scientific evidence suggests that these worms can live as long as their energy source remains intact.
“As other species of tubeworms, the growth rate slows down as the worms age, making a calculation of age difficult to make. Researchers have made growth models based on the growth rates of similar species, and estimated that certain giant tube worms are over a thousand years. Another aspect is that the chitin forming the tube is resistant to physical and chemical degradation and can last for 5.5 x 108 years. If these worms are not exhibiting the deteriorative features of aging through modern scientific observation, and studies suggest a lifespan of centuries or over a millennia, it stands to reason that the organisms are not aging in the standard sense of most other earthly organisms.” – Dr. Preethi Morris
These worms aren’t vulnerable to predators. They certainly aren’t edible! Predators wouldn’t like to chew on the poisonous sulfur crystals within the bodies of these worms. What’s to stop them from living thousands of years? The composition of their bodies is extremely resistant to physical and chemical degradation. Scientific projections show that the bodies of these worms could theoretically last 550 million years without decomposition. Essentially, we are looking at nearly immortal gigantic worms inhaling sulfur smoke in the darkness of the abyss. Can you believe it? Once again, God is using physical things to teach us about spiritual things. Looking up into the Heavens, we can clearly see the eternal glory of Heaven (Ps. 19:1, 150:1; Rom. 1:20; Ps. 89:28-29, 36-37). Similarly, looking down into the abyss of the ocean, we can clearly see the eternal horror of Hell (Mk. 9:42-48).

Article #1 on Atheism

Atheists like to present themselves to the public as lovers of science who will follow the facts wherever it may lead. However, these people are not innocent victims of ignorance who would be persuaded by sufficient evidence. The presupposition here is that no evidence has been provided and therefore Atheism is both reasonable and plausible.

Do you believe that the burden of proof is upon religion to prove the existence of God?

According to the Bible, there is no such thing as an Atheist, because the evidence is everywhere and undeniable (Rom. 1:18-21). Therefore, Atheism is both unreasonable and implausible. In biblical terms, this is to say that Atheism is foolish.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” – Psalm 14:1
Atheists are called fools because they are intentionally denying reality. They know that God is real in their conscience, and even though they possess this knowledge, they go on pretending that God isn’t real out of personal preference. “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.” (Ps. 10:4). Atheists are not honestly analyzing the evidence of Deity. They are corrupt to the core with a conflict of interest (Jn. 3:19-21). They don’t want God to exist! Naturally, as sinners, they would prefer to live a life of sin with no consequences in eternity.
“And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the Light, neither cometh to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” – John 3:19-21
A benevolent God would not leave unbelievers in darkness with no exposure to the light and no way of escape. Mankind has been endowed by our Creator to universally possess a knowledge about God (Rom. 1:18-21). This knowledge, however limited in the beginning, dawns upon the soul when children reach an age of maturity (Isa. 7:16, Deut. 1:39). Depending on how each individual person responds, they will either retain this knowledge or lose it. In other words, they will increase in wisdom or foolishness in the process of time (Rom. 1:21-32, Ps. 14:1). A correct response includes glorifying and serving God with gratitude and thankfulness (Rom. 1:21).
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” – Rom. 1:18-21
Truth is powerfully communicated to the soul from “creation”. It is divinely shown to all men, and therefore it is universally known by all men without exception. This is a supernatural experience that is accomplished through natural things. The evidence for God in nature speaks for itself! Reflecting on this, a psalmist poetically declared, “There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” (Ps. 19:3). The message being communicated causes sinners to behold two things about God: “His eternal power and Godhead”.

The Lady of Roman Catholicism

Article #6 on Roman Catholicism

Picture
Devotion to Mary is on the rise. This Lady is a dazzling attraction to a billion Catholics worldwide. Her admirers increase with every century! More churches and cathedrals have been dedicated to Mary than to Jesus Christ. The parishioners of the same can be heard addressing Mary in their liturgies of prayer, song, and ceremony, as they call her, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, Advocate, Mediatrix, co-Redemptress, Conciliatrix, and Reparatrix. Nevertheless, Catholics insist that they aren’t worshipping Mary. They would have you read the four official Marian Dogmas that are esteemed to be infallible on the subject. Catholics argue that they are only venerating and honoring Mary for her role in redemption. Do you agree? The words and deeds of Catholics speak for themselves.
“The power thus put into her hands is all but unlimited. How unerringly right, then, are Christian souls when they turn to Mary for help as though impelled by an instinct of nature, confidently sharing with her their future hopes and past achievements, their sorrows and joys, commending themselves like children to the care of a bountiful mother. How rightly, too, has every nation and every liturgy without exception acclaimed her great renown, which has grown greater with the voice of each succeeding century. Among her many other titles we find her hailed as ‘our Lady, our Mediatrix,' ‘the Reparatrix of the whole world,’ ‘the Dispenser of all heavenly gifts.’” –Pope Leo XIII, Adiutricem
Naturally, we are all inclined to exalt our mothers. Our earliest memories are graced with love, nurture, care, and compassion coming from mom! She was always there for us. Where would we be today without mother? Catholics imagine that Jesus Christ was similarly impacted by His mother in the formative years of His adolescence. Therefore, they believe that the Lord would want to install her in the role of “Queen Mother” in the Kingdom of Heaven as some of the Kings of Israel did on earth in ancient times (1 Kings 2:20; Jer. 13:18; 29:2). However, when the common people tried to credit Mary for the Man that Jesus Christ had become, the Lord immediately corrected their misunderstanding.
“And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” - Luke 11:27-28
Jesus Christ would not suffer the people to give undue honor to His mother. Divine providence orchestrated this event for our learning. This correction is a perfectly delivered rebuke of the Marian Dogmas promoted by Roman Catholicism: (1) Divine Motherhood, (2) Immaculate Conception, (3) Perpetual Virginity, & (4) the Assumption.

The Marian Dogmas of Roman Catholicism

Picture
Catholics exalt Mary through her maternal position as they regularly call her “the Mother of God”. However, being a sinner would greatly discredit the influence of her mothering of Jesus Christ. Therefore, Catholics insist that Mary was immaculately conceived, which means that she was “preserved immune from all stain of original sin” (Pope Pius IX, Dec. 8, 1854). She then proceeded to live a sinless life until the end. In the words of Pope Pius IX, “She was ever free from the least stain of sin” (Pope Pius IX). In other words, Mary was the first person ever to obtain sinless perfection since the Fall of Mankind in the genesis of time. Secondarily, Jesus Christ was also sinlessly perfect, but He was God manifest in human flesh. There is a reasonable explanation for why Jesus Christ was sinlessly perfect. However, Mary was just like the rest of us! She was 100% human and 0% God. Therefore, how could she have been sinlessly perfect?
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” – 1 Jn. 1:8

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” – Rom. 3:23

The whole human race has been corrupted by sin through the Fall of Mankind in the Garden of Eden (Rom. 5:12-14). Sin is a hereditary problem that has been passed on to the whole Family Tree. We inherit sin at birth, and this makes us sinners by nature (Ps. 51:5). Therefore, a mere man or woman cannot be sinlessly perfect. Only God is perfect! Therefore, as sinners, we have “come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). Literally, sinless perfection is the glory of God! So why are Catholics promoting Mary as someone who is godlike in glory?

Catholics also believe in her perpetual virginity, even though Mary had sons and daughters after giving birth to Jesus, all of whom are explicitly mentioned in Holy Scripture as the brothers and sisters of the Lord (Mk. 6:3, Matt. 12:46-47, Acts 1:14). Finally, Catholics believe that Mary never died. Theologically, how could she die if she wasn’t a sinner? Rather, they believe she ascended into Heaven in the Assumption (Lumen Gentium, II Vatican Council, 972).

The Queen of Heaven Sitting
in Between the Cherubims

Picture
"Mary sitteth at the right hand of her Son." – Pope Pius X, Ad Diem Illum Laetissimum

“…Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, reigns with a mother's solicitude over the entire world, just as she is crowned in heavenly blessedness with the glory of a Queen.” - Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam (1)

The godlike qualities of Mary have expanded into new realms through her ascension. She is now deemed worthy of the title, Queen of Heaven. Why? Catholics believe that she is literally reining as a Queen over all things in heaven and earth. Hence, she is sitting on the right hand of the Son of God, even as the Son of God is sitting on the right hand of the Father. Her throne is conspicuously positioned alongside the Trinity as a fourth member of royalty that sits in between the Cherubim.
“Ardent voices from the East sing out: ‘O Mother of God, today thou art carried into Heaven on the chariots of the Cherubim, the Seraphim wait upon thee and the ranks of the heavenly army bow before thee.’” - Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam (27)

"I shall sing a hymn to the mother, the Queen, whom I joyously approach in praise, gladly celebrating her wonders in song. . . Our tongue cannot worthily praise thee, O Lady; for thou who hast borne Christ the king art exalted above the Seraphim. . . Hail, O Queen of the World; hail, O Mary, Queen of us All." - Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam (28)

According to Holy Scripture, only God sits in between the Cherubims (Ps. 80:1, 99:1, Isa. 37:16). This location is the Holy of Holies in Heaven, the place where a thrice holy God dwells in eternity (Rev. 4:6-8). Literally, the Throne of God is in the midst and exalted above the Cherubim and Seraphim (Isa. 6:1-5; Ezek. 1:22-28)! Nevertheless, Catholics believe that Mary is sitting on the right hand of Jesus Christ in the midst of the Cherubims. Similarly, they say that she is “exalted above the Seraphim”. Evidently, they also believe that “the ranks of the heavenly army bow before” Mary! Can you imagine it?
Picture
You need to know that bowing is an act of worship in the Bible (Ex. 20:4-5). When John mistakenly bowed before an Angel in Heaven, the Angels protested his actions on two different occasions, saying, “See thou do it not” (Rev. 19:10, 22:8-9). The Angel knew it was forbidden in Heaven to bow before anyone or anything except the Living God! Therefore, the Angel said to John, “Worship God” (Rev. 22:8-9). Hypothetically speaking, if Mary is enthroned in the Holy of Holies as a Queen, and she is receiving this kind of treatment by men and Angels, she is acting in the role of a goddess in Heaven.

The Queen of Heaven on a Throne of Grace

Picture
“Let all, therefore, try to approach with greater trust the Throne of Grace and Mercy of our Queen and Mother, and beg for strength in adversity, light in darkness, consolation in sorrow; above all let them strive to free themselves from the slavery of sin and offer an unceasing homage, filled with filial loyalty, to their Queenly Mother.” - Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam (48)
The Throne of God in the Old Testament was called the “Mercy Seat” (Ex. 25:17-22, 30:6; Lev. 16:2, 13-15; Num. 7:89). The Throne of Jesus Christ in the New Testament is called “the Throne of Grace” (Heb. 4:16). So why are Catholics calling the Throne of Mary “the Throne of Grace & Mercy of our Queen”? Catholics are then admonished to approach this Throne with “greater trust” to find help as each occasion might require. This is blasphemy! Why? Because faith in God, or trust, is the primary act of worship that the Lord is requiring of all mankind to be saved. Therefore, trusting in Mary to do what only God can do is tantamount to idolatry. Sadly, this misplaced trust is commonplace among Catholics. The eloquent speeches of Saints inspire them to treat Mary like a goddess.

The Glory of Mary Filling Heaven and Earth

“We read, moreover, in the Ethiopic Missal: ‘O Mary, center of the whole world, . . . thou art greater than the many-eyed Cherubim and the six-winged Seraphim . . . Heaven and earth are filled with the sanctity of thy glory.’” - Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam (29)
A mere man or woman should never be spoken about in this manner. Not even a redeemed woman in Heaven can possess such greatness! Human beings on earth were made by God to be “a littler lower than Angels” (Ps. 8:5, Heb. 2:7, 9). Then, at the resurrection, redeemed mankind will finally be “equal unto the Angels” (Lk. 20:36). Of course, Scripture never states that redeemed mankind will be “greater” than Angels. Nevertheless, according to Pope Pius XII, Mary’s greatness far exceeds that of Angels, insomuch that “heaven and earth are filled with the sanctity of [her] glory”.

Actually, this is what holy Angels say about God in the Bible. Remember? Isaiah heard the Seraphim crying out in worship before the Throne of God, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isa. 6:3). These words rang out in Heaven as the highest form of worship from the holiest of Angels! Meanwhile, the Pope is giving the same praise to the Lady of Roman Catholicism. How is it even possible for heaven and earth to be filled with the glory of Mary? Pope Pius XII is obviously preaching about the glory of a goddess that rivals the glory of the LORD! And people like Saint Louis Marie de Montfort give detailed explanations about how the glory of Mary supposedly fills heaven and earth.

Omnipresence, Omniscience, & Omnipotence?

“For God has made her Queen of Heaven and earth, leader of his armies, keeper of his treasure, dispenser of his graces, mediatrix on behalf of men, destroyer of his enemies, and faithful associate in his great works and triumphs.” –Saint Louis Marie de Montfort, True Devotion to Mary
Mary seems to be present in nearly everything that the LORD is doing! This says a lot about a woman who isn’t Omnipresent like God. How can this Lady be doing all these things? The LORD of Hosts governs heaven and earth by commanding an angelic army of hundreds of millions of Angels all at the same time! This requires Omniscience. The visible movement of these Angels, in coming and going from before the Throne of God, has “the appearance of a flash of lightning” (Ezek. 1:14). The thoroughfare of these fiery Angels creates the appearance of “a fiery stream” before the Throne (Dan. 7:9-10; Ps. 104:4). They all obey the LORD at once with unimaginable speed and power! “Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” (Ps. 103:20). This is a spectacular show of Omnipotence! Therefore, hypothetically speaking, what could Mary do in this situation? Not much. But Pope Pius XII is still trying to persuade you otherwise.

The Radiant Countenance of the Queen of Creation

Picture
“May the powerful Queen of Creation, whose radiant glance banishes storms and tempests and brings back cloudless skies, look upon these her innocent and tormented children with eyes of mercy; may the Virgin, who is able to subdue violence beneath her foot, grant to them that they may soon enjoy the rightful freedom to practice their religion openly…” - Ad Caeli Reginam, Pope Pius XII (50)
Reading things like this makes Catholics forget all about Jesus Christ! Why would Catholics waste time “looking to Jesus” if Mary is more available to unworthy sinners (Heb. 12:2)? Supposedly, a single “glance” from Mary is able to command creation. This is something that only God can do (Matt. 8:23-27, Mk. 5:35-41, Lk. 8:22-25; Ps. 65:7, 89:9, 107:29; Ps. 29:10). Allegedly, a single “look” upon her children on earth is able to change the world. Hypothetically speaking, if such divinity is shining from the light of her countenance, indeed, all men should look to her for physical and spiritual blessings. This is exactly what Saint Therese of Lisieux would have all men do! However, this would require Mary’s gaze to be Omnipresent.
“In trial or difficulty, I have recourse to Mother Mary, whose glance alone is enough to dissipate every fear.” – Saint Therese of Lisieux

“May the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, always smile on your spirit, obtaining for it, from her Most Holy Son, every heavenly blessing.” – Saint Padre Pio

Can the fears of all believers worldwide be dissipated before the face of Mary? Once again, this would require her to be Omnipresent. She cannot smile upon everyone at once! Nevertheless, a billion Catholics are praying to her every day all at the same time. How can she hear and comprehend all these prayers at once? How does she have the power to answer all these prayers simultaneously? This would require Omniscience and Omnipotence. Practically speaking, Catholics really do believe that Mary is godlike. Otherwise, they wouldn’t relate to her in this capacity.
“Let us run to Mary, and, as her little children, cast ourselves into her arms with a perfect confidence.” – St. Francis De Sales

“If you invoke the Blessed Virgin when you are tempted, she will come at once to your help, and Satan will leave you.” – St. John Vianney

How can all these people run to Mary at the same time? This Lady of Catholicism can only be in one place at a time. Nevertheless, Catholics speak of Mary as if she has the “everlasting arms” of God Himself (Deut. 33:27)! Why? She can’t go and help everyone who is praying to her at the same time. Once again, this would require Omnipresence. But many serious Catholics really do feel that Mary is present with them! Otherwise, arguably, they would stop praying to Mary.
“Mary, with you consent you became the Mother of God and torrents of grace poured forth upon the earth. Be with me now as I walk the path you have opened:
In times of loneliness,
Mary, be with me.
In times of turmoil and uncertainty,
Mary, be with me.
In times of grief, loss, or illness,
Mary, be with me.
In times of sadness or depression,
Mary, be with me.
In times of lost plans and broken promises,
Mary, be with me.
When I am anxious about the welfare of my family,
Mary, be with me.
When a job or financial stress weighs heavily on my heart,
Mary, be with me.
When I am discouraged by the weight of my sins,
Mary, be with me.
When I am tempted,
Mary, be with me.
When I am afraid,
Mary, be with me.
When the Lord calls me to greater kindness and love,
Mary, be with me.
When the Lord calls me to greater purity,
Mary, be with me.”
- The Magnificat with Mary
Why do Catholics want to be with Mary? This is a sincere question. Speaking to Christians, Jesus Christ said, “lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:20). Which do you prefer, Mary or Jesus Christ? It’s obvious to true Christians that Catholics aren’t spiritually feeling the presence of Jesus Christ in their daily lives. Why would they? They aren’t “looking to Jesus” (Heb. 12:2). Catholicism has everyone praying, “Our Mother”, while true believers go straight to God through Jesus Christ praying, “Our Father” (Matt. 6:7; Rom. 8:14-16). The contrast is staggering to behold.
Picture
Sadly, most people don’t even know how to pray! They resort to chants, mantras, and slogans instead of prayer. Our prayers shouldn’t be vain or meaningless repetitions to God. We will not be heard because of how many times we pray any given memorized prayer. For example, the Rosary guides people to say 50 repetitious prayers! And people religiously utter every single prayer on a daily basis. Why? The reasons for this are obvious.
“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” – Matt. 6:7
Not a single verse of the Bible can be produced of anyone praying to someone other than God. “Should not a people seek unto their God?” (Isa. 8:19). Spiritually interacting with dead people is both impossible and illegal. It is impossible because Mary can’t hear the prayers of a billion Catholics. She is too busy worshipping Jesus Christ in Heaven! It is illegal because the Bible forbids us from attempting to make contact with the souls of dead people (Lev. 19:31, 20:5-7, Isa. 8:19-20). This is a very serious sin called necromancy. It is a kind of witchcraft (1 Sam. 28:1-25). Committing this sin will make the offender a “necromancer” (Deut. 18:10-11).

Necromancers are people who talk to departed spirits in the afterlife. Feeling that someone is truly present in these circumstances isn’t a good thing! This is when lying signs and wonders are performed (2 Thess. 2:9). Demons frequently manifest themselves as “familiar spirits”, disguising themselves as the spirits of dead family members, and they do this for the purpose of destroying people’s lives (Lev. 19:31, 20:6, Deut. 18:11). Beware! This is dangerous territory. Satan will give you what you want as you actively disobey God and violate Holy Scripture (Matt. 4:9).

The Name of Mary

“Men do not fear a powerful hostile army as the powers of hell fear the name and protection of Mary.” – St. Bonaventure

“In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And that you may obtain the assistance of her prayer, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for guide, you shall never go astray; while invoking her, you shall never lose heart; so long as she is in your mind, you are safe from deception; while she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; if she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal.” - Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Father and Doctor of the Church

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux has deceived many Catholics through the eloquent words of empty promises, saying, “Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart.”. I sincerely wonder if this man has ever read the Bible! Speaking about the Name of Jesus Christ, the Apostle Peter said, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). Thus says the first Pope of Roman Catholicism? I wonder why they don’t listen to him.  The prayers that are prayed in the Name of Jesus Christ are sure to be answered (Jn. 14:13-14, 15:16, 16:23-24). It is the Name of Jesus Christ that strikes fear in the demons of hell (Php. 2:10, Lk. 8:28)! As for this Lady, well, the glorification of Mary as a goddess is a dangerous deception. How can Mary be with me? Jesus Christ said, “Abide in Me, and I in you.” (Jn. 15:4). Hence, we are supposed to “follow His steps” (1 Pet. 2:21, 1 Jn. 2:6).

Mary the Mediatrix

Picture
"The Immaculate Virgin becomes the sublime icon of Divine Mercy that conquered sin. To her I entrust the Church and all humanity, especially the city of Rome." – Pope Francis
Roman Catholicism is overcome with a feverish attraction to Mary. Famous voices speak great swelling words on her behalf. Their zeal is contagious! Their speech is enticing! Things don’t appear to be cold, dead, and dry among those devoted to Mary. Her apparitions are bewitching! And the associated doctrines of Mary are a mixture of Latin words and biblical terms with curious definitions. This is how Mary became the Mediatrix! Men like Pope Pius XII are presenting to the world a Lady of dreamlike beauty and wonder. Speaking of her, Pius said, “She is so beautiful and perfect, and possesses such fullness of innocence and holiness, that under God a greater could not be dreamed, and only God can comprehend the marvel” (Ad Caeli Reginam, 41). Should not the eyes of the Bride look to the Bridegroom? Such things provoke the jealousy of a holy God.
“It is God’s will that nothing be bestowed on us except through Mary; so that, as nobody can reach the supreme Father except through the Son, so that almost nobody can approach Christ except through Mary.” – Pope Leo XIII

“All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” – Saint Padre Pio

“Jesus honored her before all ages, and will honor her for all ages. No one comes to Him, nor even near Him, no one is saved or sanctified, if he too will not honor her. This is the lot of Angels and of men.” – Saint Maximilian Kolbe

“The Son of God became man for our salvation but only in Mary and through Mary.” – Saint Louis de Montfort

The words and deeds of Catholics speak for themselves. The voice of Roman Catholicism presents Mary to the world as the one and only Mediatrix of the Mediator. In order to get to Jesus Christ, the Mediator, you have to go through Mary, the Mediatrix. Mary isn’t a way to Christ. Mary is the only way to Christ! Mary is essentially standing in front of Jesus Christ. Literally, you can’t look to Jesus Christ, unless you look to Mary. You can’t go to Jesus Christ, unless you go through Mary. If you ignore the Mediatrix then you aren’t even a real Christian.
“A man is no true Christian if he has no devotion to the Mother of Jesus Christ.” – Saint John Eudes

“What hope can we have of salvation, if Thou dost abandon us, O Mary, who art the life of Christians?” – Saint Germanus

“As mariners are guided into port by the shining of a star, so Christians are guided to Heaven by Mary.” – Saint Thomas Aguinas

Making Mary a goddess is blasphemy. Relating to Mary on a practical level as if she is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent is blasphemy. Eclipsing Jesus Christ with the presence of Mary is the height of blasphemy! Eclipsing the Mediator with the Mediatrix is a demonic deception! It is not the voice of pious men that we hear glorifying Mary in this way. Forcing men to come to Mary is strange and idolatrous. Forbidding men from coming straight to Jesus Christ is oppression and condemnation.
“For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” – 1 Tim. 2:5-6
You don’t need a Mediatrix and a Mediator. You don’t need a Lady and a Man! There is only one Mediator between God and men. Don’t let all the trickery of words turn you away from Jesus Christ! The doctrines of Roman Catholicism are clearly violating Holy Scripture in the Bible. The Saints of Roman Catholicism want you to go to Mary as your Mediatrix because, supposedly, she will go to Jesus Christ on your behalf and she always “obtains what she seeks, and cannot be refused” (Ad Caeli Reginam, Pope Pius XII, 42). This too is contrary to Scripture. Mary was refused in Matthew 12:46-50. Read it for yourself!
“While [Jesus] yet talked to the people, behold, his Mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy Mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” – Matt. 12:46-50
Mary was put in her place on this day in history! All men should look back and take note. Jesus Christ did not suffer her interruption. Nor did He allow Mary to be exalted above other women who were repenting and believing in Jesus Christ. While Jesus Christ was publicly reducing the status of Mary in this historical situation, Roman Catholicism has been exalting Mary by inserting her presence into almost every part of the Gospel.
Picture
“Together they [Christ and Mary] accomplished the task of man’s redemption…both offered up one and the same sacrifice to God; she in the blood of her heart, he in the blood of the flesh…so that, together with Christ, she obtained a common effect in the salvation of the world.” – Abbot Arnold of Chartres (1144-56)
Do you believe in “the blood” of Mary? Noble clergymen are telling you that there is power in “the grace which she merited” (Pope Pius XII, Ad Caeli Reginam, 36). Roman Catholicism continually exaggerates and embellishes Mary’s role in the work of Jesus Christ. Councils, Officials, and Catechisms all teach that Mary was “the cause of salvation” (CCC, 494). They say that she acted in the role of a Priest “in a sense” when she “offered Christ’s sacrifice to God the Father as far as she was permitted to do” (Pope Benedict XV). Mysteriously, Mary was also spiritually united with Christ in His suffering and death on the Cross, “and so entirely participating in His Passion” (Pope Pious X), it was “almost as if she would have died herself” (Pope Benedict XV). All this and more is believed about Mary, “so that it can truly be said, that along with Christ she redeemed the human race” (Benedict XV). This is a false gospel.
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” – 2 Cor. 11:4
These perversions of the Gospel cannot be allowed to go uncontested. Protestants still have something to protest! The work of the Reformers isn’t done. Even though a billion Catholics believe in these things, “though hand join in hand” (Prov. 16:5), they shall not go unpunished. Sadly, more and more apparitions of this Lady will appear. Signs, wonders, and miracles will continue to be done in the Name of Mary. Things are only going to get worse because we are living in the Last Days. All these things have been foretold in Holy Scripture.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” – 2 Tim 4:3-4

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” - Gal. 1:8

Are you a Catholic? Now is the time for you to start questioning everything you have ever learned about God in Roman Catholicism. Now is the time for you to put your trust in the Lord by reading the Bible for yourself! Only then will you realize the grace and glory that exclusively belongs to Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of the New Testament.

The Word of God will lead you into a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ is sufficient and efficacious for your reconciliation to God. “For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:13). So, why call upon Mary? Renounce this imposter! Jesus Christ welcomes all those who truly come to Him by faith in the Gospel. Speaking of this, the Lord said, “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37). So, why go to Mary when you can come directly to Jesus Christ? And Jesus Christ will bring you to the Father.

The promises of God are sure, steadfast, and unbreakable. Jesus Christ said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6). There is no other way to the Father. There is no other way to Heaven. Mary can’t bring you to the Father. Mary didn’t die for your sins! Only Jesus Christ can bring you to Heaven. Look to Jesus! Every look to Mary as a Mediatrix is an offence to Jesus Christ! Because every look to Mary is a look away from Jesus Christ. The holy office of a Mediator can only be filled by one Person. Therefore, repent, and believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.

Do You Still Believe in the Pope?

“And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the Name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.” - Luke 19:35-38
Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ was ushered into Jerusalem with the welcome of a King. Crowds of believers shouted, “Blessed be the King that cometh in the Name of the Lord” (Lk. 19:38)! This is the one and only Messiah, the anointed King, the same Man whom the apostle Paul called, “the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords” (1 Tim. 6:16). However, since then another man has arisen who has been crowned with the triregnum, a triple crown, which signifies the pontifical power of the Pope as the Father of Kings, Governor of the World, and Vicar of Christ. Catholic tradition teaches that this crown also signifies the kingship of the Pope over all believers in all realms of existence: on earth, in purgatory, and in Heaven.
“As a ceremonial piece, the triregnum signified the triple pontifical power as expressed during a pope’s coronation: father of kings, governor of the world, and vicar of Christ. According to tradition, the triregnum also represents the three states of the Roman Catholic Church: the church militant (which refers to the church on Earth), the church penitent (also called the church suffering or the church expectant, referring to the souls in purgatory), and the church triumphant (which refers to the saints in heaven).” – Britannica

"For the Roman Pontiff, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, and as pastor of the entire Church has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered." - Catechism of the Catholic Church (882)
Do you believe in the Pope? Catholics are proud to attend festivals where they can personally behold the pomp and grandeur of the Pope in real time. Historically, massive crowds have gathered to see the procession of Sedia Gestatoria as the Pope is seated on a kingly throne, elevated, and borne upon the shoulders of twelve men before all the people. One man is highly exalted, and the rest of the people are in attendance as devoted subjects! Occasions like these usually include acts of homage like “the kiss of the feet”. People are surprisingly eager to come and kiss the feet of the Pope! However, recently, it has become more common to bow and kiss the ring of the Pope as a public statement of complete subservience.
“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the Princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” – Matt. 20:25-28
In a spectacular show of lordship, the Pope reigns as a King in Rome! Serious men perform their duties as the Pope is ceremoniously presented to the people for reverence and awe. No wonder the people come and slavishly take orders from the Pope. The Cardinals, acting as Princes (formally addressed as Eminence), do their part to help enforce the rule of the Pope worldwide. Over 1 billion people follow the papal declarations of the Pope because they believe that he speaks infallibly on faith and morals. The following papal declarations are calling for your subjection or else you will be eternally condemned to hell.
"We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." - Pope Boniface VIII

"...no man of the wayfarers outside of the faith of this Church, and outside the obedience of the Pope of Rome, can finally be saved...all who have raised themselves against the faith of the Roman Church and have died in final impenitence have been damned and have descended to the eternal punishments of hell." - Pope Clement VI

"He who would separate himself from the Roman Pontiff has no further bond with Christ." - Pope Leo XIII
Do you still believe in the Pope? The Lordship of the Roman Pontiff is not necessary for your salvation. This man is an imposter! These are empty threats from a powerless man. These papal declarations speak of the Pope as if he is the only Way to Christ, or the only Way to Heaven, when Jesus Christ said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6). The word “Pope” does not even appear in the Bible! There is only “one Lord” in Christianity (Eph. 4:5). Your salvation depends upon your faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” – Acts 16:30-31
Sinners must come to a place of absolute surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and only then can they be saved. You must be able to sincerely confess, “Jesus is the Lord” (1 Cor. 12:3). The Son of God is the one true King (Col. 1:18)! And God’s promises concerning Him are faithful and true: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Rom. 10:9). Now is the time for you to renounce your allegiance to the Pope of Rome. You don’t have to go anywhere or do anything to be saved. All you must do is believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8-10).
“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the Gospel.” - Mark 1:15
Jesus Christ lived a humble life of poverty during his earthly ministry because He wanted to be close to the common people. The Monarch of Heaven wasn’t living a comfortable life with the Princes of Rome. Therefore, it wasn’t easy for the disciples to follow the Lord (Lk. 9:57-62). Literally, Jesus Christ was a homeless minister who had nowhere to lay his head (Mat. 8:20, Lk. 9:58)! And He disdained the rich lifestyle and beautiful apparel of earthly Kings (Matt. 11:8, Lk. 7:25). Similarly, the Apostles suffered hunger, thirst, nakedness, and beatings, and they too had no certain dwelling place during their ministry (1 Cor. 4:11, 2 Cor. 11:27). Why? They followed in the example of Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 4:1). The disciple is not above the Master (Lk. 6:40, Jn. 15:18-25).
“But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” - Luke 6:24-26
What does the Pope do with all this popularity, wealth, and power? You should know that the current Pope, Francis, has a net worth of around 16 million dollars. How did he acquire such wealth? The same question should be asked to everyone else in the palace halls of the Vatican. The net worth of the Vatican is estimated to be 15 billion dollars! Combine this with the wealth and power of all the Cardinals, Bishops, and Priests worldwide. Meanwhile, all these men claim to be the modern successors of the Apostles! But all the world can see that their testimony of Christianity is in total contradiction to the lifestyle of the Apostles and Jesus Christ in the Bible (1 Cor. 4:8-16). Apparently, there is a conflict of interest in their organization.
“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.” - James 5:1-3
Bad things happen when great men and corrupt rulers are enriched and empowered in society. Horrific crimes are committed just to keep their hold on power and influence. The Pope is no exception! Historically, the greatest threat to the Pope was the Bible; therefore, the Clergy of Roman Catholicism outlawed the translation of the Bible into the language of the common people.
"We prohibit also that the laity should be permitted to have the books of the Old or New Testament; but we most strictly forbid their having any translation of these books." – the Council of Toulouse in 1229 A.D.

"No one may possess the books of the Old and New Testaments in the Romance language, and if anyone possesses them he must turn them over to the local bishop within eight days after promulgation of this decree, so that they may be burned..." – the Council of Tarragona in 1234 A.D.

True Christians were arrested, imprisoned, and killed for trying to translate the Bible so that poor and uneducated people could possess a copy and read it for themselves. Have you read the Bible? John Wycliffe was condemned as a heretic by the archbishop of Canterbury for translating the Bible into English. The Council of Constance in 1415 A.D. even had Wycliffe’s bones dug up and publicly burned! Later, in 1536 A.D., William Tyndale was also burned at the stake for committing the same crime. Historians estimate that hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of bible-believing Christians were killed during the Inquisitions of the Roman Catholic Church. Do you still believe in the Pope?
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” - John 10:10
Picture
Popes have summoned armies for Crusades of War leading to the slaughter of innocent people from other religions. Muslims and Jews were killed arbitrarily! Violence, robbery, and rape were commonplace among the Crusaders. Do you still believe in the Pope? All these things were done in the Name of the Pope. Contrastingly, when Jesus Christ was faced with the threat of violence and death by a mob of angry people, the Lord strictly prohibited His disciples from fighting on His behalf. As a Lamb to the slaughter the Lord spoke truth to power in the courts of Kings and Governors.
“Jesus answered, My Kingdom is not of this world: if My Kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My Kingdom not from hence.” - John 18:36

Eucharistic Adoration

Article #4 on Roman Catholicism

Picture
There are reports of a Eucharistic Revival taking place among Catholics. Fervent speeches are being given by famous Priests who are trying to inspire people to have their own personal encounter with the Eucharist. The following confession is an accurate description of Eucharistic Adoration.
“I fall down in worship and adoration before something that looks just like a piece of bread and a cup of wine. I say Hosanna to it. I adore it as the very God of the universe! The Eucharist is my Lord and my God, my salvation, my life, the very source of my being!” – a devout Catholic
Catholics call a piece of bread “the Eucharistic Lord”. Parishioners regularly assemble to gaze upon the bread in worship, while thinking to themselves, “I look at Him, and He looks at me”. They truly believe that they are looking at the face of Jesus Christ. They even fall down before the bread and worship it as God! Meanwhile, the bread never changes in appearance. It doesn’t look like the flesh of a person. When it is eaten, it doesn’t taste like the flesh of a person. Evidently, the substance of the bread has not changed! But Catholics believe that it is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ in real time.

What do the Prophets of the Bible have to say about this scene? You need to read it for yourself! It is alarming how similar this practice is to the idolatry of paganism. The Prophets often spoke against idolatry. They denounced it as strange, senseless, unreasonable, and blasphemous. Sometimes, under inspiration, the Prophets would survey the whole process of paganism in the making and worshipping of an idol just to prove the point.
“He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it. Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.” – Isa. 44:14-15

“And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?” – Isa. 44:19

A striking emphasis is put upon how the idolaters bake bread while practicing paganism. Is this a coincidence? Catholics bake bread and they call it God. They fall down before it and worship it! Literally, someone makes dough for the bread. A fire is kindled to heat an oven. Someone bakes the bread until it is cooked. Catholics then bow down and worship the food as God! In context, Isaiah the Prophet’s argument against paganism is very powerful. I’m sure you will find it persuasive if you read Isaiah 44:9-20. To put things in perspective, in modern terms, nothing in the kitchen that is used for cooking should be worshipped as a god. Shall I fall down before a piece of bread? No one should ever worship anything that is made with human hands (Ps. 115:4, 135:15; Ex. 20:4-6).

Granted, Catholics believe that when the Priests “say Mass”, the bread is substantially transformed into the body and blood of Jesus Christ at the words of consecration, but the Hindu Priests of paganism do the same rituals for the consecration of newly made idols. During the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the Priests invoke a god’s presence into an idol. This process is believed to transform the idol into a sacred thing that can then receive worship from believers in Hinduism.
Picture
Before the words of consecration, the idol cannot be worshipped as a god in Hinduism. After the words of consecration, the idol can be worshipped as a god because the idol is infused with life by the presence of a deity, and therefore it is capable of responding to prayers from the people. In other words, the idol is then believed to be possessed by the soul and divinity of a god, like Catholics believe the host of bread becomes the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. Roman Catholicism has adopted the methods and employed the practices of paganism in an attempt to worship Jesus Christ.
Picture
Catholics put “the Eucharistic Lord” into a golden frame called a monstrance. A wooden stand overlaid with gold exalts the presence of the bread as God in a disturbing presentation of idolatry. Catholics even retrofit a part of the Church to serve as a permanent Tabernacle for “the Eucharistic Lord”. This allows for Catholics to come and “visit” Jesus in the Tabernacle. Naturally, they feel obliged to come and spend time with the Eucharist because they believe they are coming face to face with God. Holy hours are set apart for Eucharistic Adoration where worshippers take great pleasure in gazing upon a piece of bread. However, eventually, someone goes ahead and eats the bread as a part of the Mass.
“Are ye also yet without understanding? Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?” – Matt. 15:16-17
Catholics believe that they become one with Jesus Christ through eating the Eucharist. Technically, according to Roman Catholicism, they are eating the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. But how does this work? Apparently, “the Eucharistic Lord” enters into the mouth and goes into the belly, and then it is absorbed into the body through the nutrients of bread and wine. Finally, according to Matthew 15:16-17, “the Eucharistic Lord” is excreted from the body in a vile form of waste. Maybe this is why Catholics need to keep eating “the Eucharistic Lord” daily and weekly? The Eucharist of yesterday isn’t enough. “Whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught” (Matt. 15:17).

Do Catholics also believe that they are eating the soul and divinity of Jesus Christ? I don’t suppose any clergymen of Roman Catholicism can explain this part to the people. Blasphemies are usually incomprehensible and downright unbelievable! Nevertheless, many strange religious traditions have arisen that fixate people on eating and drinking as a form of worship to God.
“Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” – Matt. 15:7-9
These traditions seriously undermine the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Catholics are so focused on the bread that they don’t care to read the Bible! Their faith is in the ritual rather than the righteousness of Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:26, 4:5-6, 22). While obsessing over the physical presence of the sacraments, the people are blinded to the omnipresence of God (Isa. 66:1-2). They seek oneness with Christ through the bread while disregarding the invisible presence of Jesus Christ who inhabits all true Christians (Gal. 2:20, Php. 1:21, Col. 3:1-3). While choosing to honor the Tabernacle of the Eucharist, they end up rejecting “the Temple of God” that Jesus Christ has built and consecrated for Himself (Jn. 14:21, 23; 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20).

The Miracle of the Eucharist?

Article #3 on Roman Catholicism

Picture
Catholics regularly assemble in their local Churches to receive the Eucharist. They wait with anticipation for the Priest to “say Mass” because at the words of consecration, Catholics believe that the bread and wine is miraculously turned into the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. This is called Transubstantiation. They believe the very substance of the Eucharist is literally transformed into the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. Catholics then proceed to eat and drink the Eucharist as the essence of eternal life itself.
Picture
Catholics kneel before the Priest for him to place the Eucharist in their mouths. They see the bread, and it doesn’t look like human flesh. They chew it in their mouths, and it doesn’t taste like human flesh. They see the wine, and it doesn’t look like blood. They get a few drops of it in their mouths, and it doesn’t taste like blood. Both the bread and wine is substantially the same as it was before the Mass. What about the miracle of Transubstantiation? Catholics are told to ignore their senses and believe in the Eucharist, even though it looks and tastes like ordinary food. This is strange, unreasonable, unnatural, and unbiblical. This isn’t how the miracles of God worked in the Bible.
“If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.” - John 10:37-38

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” – Matt. 10:7-8

The miracles performed by Jesus Christ and the Apostles were public signs that anyone and everyone could see as undeniable evidence that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. You don’t have to ignore your senses to believe in miracles! Your senses are supposed to confirm that a miracle really happened. On the contrary, an act that would normally be called Cannibalism among Catholics is permitted by society without any moral outrage because everyone can clearly see that no miracle was performed to substantially transform the bread and wine into flesh and blood. God does not permit any miracles to be done that are contrary to Holy Scripture.
“Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.” – Rom. 6:9

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” – Rev. 1:18

The doctrine of Transubstantiation can be refuted in five words: Jesus Christ is not dead! Upon rising from the dead 2,000 years ago, the Son of God is now alive forevermore. According to Romans 6:9 and Revelation 1:18, the resurrected Human Body of the Messiah cannot become dead again. Consequentially, the Priests of Catholicism are powerless to provide the flesh and blood of a dead Christ for sinners to eat.
“For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” – Rom. 14:17
Salvation in Jesus Christ cannot be reduced to a literal piece of meat and drink. I’m sure the Priests told you about how Jesus said, “For My flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.” (John 6:55), but they are ignoring the fact that He was speaking figuratively rather than literally. This is a dangerous misinterpretation. “Is not life more than meat?” (Matt. 6:25). The Priests of Catholicism do not possess the authority to give you eternal life through the Eucharist as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God. Evidently, according to Romans 14:17, the Kingdom of God is not manifest in meat and drink! Rather, it is manifest spiritually through the mighty work of the Holy Ghost in a new birth experience where sinners are set free from their sins (Jn. 3:3, 5, 2 Cor. 5:17, Lk. 17:21).
“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.” – Heb. 13:9
The Eucharist is central to Roman Catholicism. Catholics worldwide revolve and orbit around the Eucharist! Consequentially, so much attention is constantly being given to the meats and drinks of the Eucharist. Meanwhile, those who are occupied with these superstitious works are not profited. It’s time for you to understand the doctrines of grace according to the Bible (Eph. 2:8-9). Salvation in Jesus Christ cannot be reduced to a ritual of meats and drinks! Nor should your spiritual union with Christ be isolated to a piece of bread that is relegated to the hands of corruptible Priests. This puts the power of divine forgiveness in the hands of the Clergy. Calling them “Father” doesn’t make them fit or trustworthy to stand in the place of God in a stewardship of food for the salvation of your soul.
“And call no man your Father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in Heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.” – Matt. 23:9-10
The Priests of Roman Catholicism are being unlawfully exalted with the title, “Father”, making regular Catholics feel base and inferior in the presence of the Priesthood. Men should not be allowed to have “dominion over your faith” (2 Cor. 1:24). Your salvation does not depend upon your faith in the Mass! Your salvation depends upon your faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Tim. 2:5-6).

The Eucharist of Life?

Article #2 on Roman Catholicism

Picture
Jesus Christ frequently spoke in parables and was often misunderstood by the people. Have you read the Gospel of John? The Son of God said that He was “the true Light” (Jn. 1:9), “the Light of Life” (Jn. 8:12), “Living Water” (Jn. 4:14), “the true Bread” (Jn. 6:32), “the Bread of Life” (Jn. 6:48), “the good Shepherd” (Jn. 10:11), and “the true Vine” (Jn. 15:1). The Son of God was speaking figuratively, but listeners standing by would sometimes interpret these parables literally. Usually, only a remnant of hearers would understand the message.
“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” – Matt. 13:13
The most infamous case of this in the 1st century was when the Lord said to the Jews, “Destroy this Temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” (Jn. 2:19). The people were deeply offended because they thought that Jesus was speaking literally about the Temple in Jerusalem, when in reality the Lord was speaking figuratively about the Temple of His body. A literal interpretation of this analogy led to the greatest crime ever committed: the condemnation, murder, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
“And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the Temple of God, and to build it in three days.” – Matt. 26:61

“And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the Temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.” – Matt. 27:39-40

This serves as a warning to people who confidently believe in literal interpretations of parables. The most notorious case of this in modern times is when the Lord said, “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up on the Last Day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.” (Jn. 6:54-55). Somehow, this has become central to the faith of Roman Catholicism because the clergy confidently believe that the Son of God was speaking literally about the Eucharist as the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. Howbeit, a correct interpretation is given in the discourse provided in John 6:22-71.
“the words that I speak unto you…are life.” – Jn. 6:63

“Thou hast the words of eternal life.” – Jn. 6:68

Let me explain. Life is a central theme of the parable given in John 6:22-71. Life was explicitly mentioned a total of 6 times in John 6:33, 35, 48, 51, 53, 63. For example, Jesus Christ said, “I am the bread of life.” (Jn. 6:48). Similarly, the Lord said, “I am the living bread…” (Jn. 6:51). This is a common theme among all the parables! Jesus also offered “living water” to sinners as a real source of life (Jn. 4:10). Bread, water, and other essential components to human life were employed in parables to speak about eternal life.
“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” - John 4:13-14

“For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” - John 6:33-35

Evidently, the Lord is accomplishing the same thing through the bread and water of these two parables. This should give some pause to Catholics. When Jesus Christ was speaking about life He was referring to eternal life. They are used interchangeably in the discourse provided in John 6:22-71. Eternal life was explicitly mentioned a total of 5 times in John 6:27, 40, 47, 54, 68. For example, Jesus Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.” (Jn. 6:47).  Similarly, the Lord said, “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up on the Last Day.” (Jn. 6:54). Now, while many people murmured and were offended at this statement, because they thought that Jesus was talking about cannibalism, the Lord proceeded to give them a correct interpretation of the parable in John 6:63.
“It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life.” - John 6:63
Obviously, the source of life is not coming from the flesh! The Son of God said, “It is the Spirit that quickeneth” (Jn. 6:63). In other words, this means, “It is the Spirit that brings life”. The flesh is not making people alive. Therefore, we shouldn’t interpret the parable according to the flesh (Jn. 8:50). Nor should we try to literally eat the flesh of the Son of God in the Eucharist! The lifegiving power of the Spirit comes through believing in the word of God through Jesus Christ. Clarifying this, the Lord said, “the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life” (Jn. 6:63). Peter had a perfect understanding of this controversial parable through the interpretation provided by Jesus Christ, and this led him to make the following confession.
“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” - John 6:68
How was Peter going to get eternal life? By receiving and believing “the words of eternal life” (Jn. 6:68). Why? Because “the words” that Jesus spoke, “they are Spirit, and they are Life” (Jn. 6:63). Therefore, speaking figuratively, we must eat the word of God! We must eat the words of Jesus Christ. This is the message being communicated by the parable. Our relationship to Jesus Christ will be judged based upon our relationship to His word. Hence, “the word” is the source of life in the parable of parables (Mk. 4:14). “Know ye not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables?” (Mark 4:13).

Certainly, many people are going to disagree with this interpretation. The preaching of Jesus Christ in the Gospels was characteristically parabolic to allow for people to come to their own erroneous conclusions, as stated in Matthew 13:9-18. This is why Jesus Christ often said, “Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matt. 13:9). Interpretations to parables were usually concealed from the public and revealed to the Lord’s closest disciples. Therefore, when interpretations are given in Scripture, true believers are expected to recognize it when reading the text. In this case, there is resounding agreement between the interpretation of Jesus Christ in John 6:63 and Peter’s confession in John 6:68. Do you agree? The apostle John was in agreement. This is why John called Jesus Christ “the Word of Life” in 1 John 1:1 while inviting believers to have spiritual fellowship with the Living God through the person of Jesus Christ.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” – 1 Jn. 1:1-3
The parable of the Bread of Life only appears in the Gospel of John. Therefore, John must have been personally impacted by this parable. However, neither John, nor the Apostles, ever spoke about touching, tasting, or handling the Eucharist as the source of eternal life. No! They spoke about touching, tasting, and handling “the Word of Life” (Jn. 1:1). Those who come to supper here will not be disappointed (Ps. 34:8, 1 Pet. 2:3, Heb. 6:4-5, Rev. 3:20). Those who have “tasted the good Word of God” will find it to be “sweeter than honey” (Heb. 6:5, Ps. 19:10). What about you? Will you receive John’s invitation to fellowship with Jesus Christ according to 1 John 1:1-3? Remember, this is coming from the same apostle who said that Jesus Christ is “the Word” (Jn. 1:1, 14). Literally, “His Name is called The Word of God” (Rev. 19:13)! This is the real source of holy communion with God.
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” – Jer. 15:16
Receiving the word of God by faith has been parabolically referred to as eating it in the Old Testament. The spiritual experience of eating the word of God is further amplified in Ezekiel 2:8-3:3, leaving the reader no doubt about this biblical manner of speech. The same manner of speech is then used repeatedly in the New Testament (Revelation 10:9). Why? “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matt. 4:4). Let the pure testimony of Holy Scripture serve as a dogmatic interpretation of the parable in question.

The Definition of Idolatry?

Article #1 on Roman Catholicism

Picture
Idolatry is a very serious sin that is sending billions of people to hell! Therefore, it is necessary for us to have a correct definition of idolatry according to the Bible. Everyone knows about the idolatry of paganism in its various forms, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, but professing Catholics and Christians can commit idolatry even while trying to worship Jesus Christ. This brings us to the 10 Commandments.
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” – Ex. 20:4-6 (Deut. 5:8-9)
In a scene that should never be forgotten, the congregation of Israel was given a correct definition of idolatry. We do not need to debate about this definition because it came directly from God as the people heard the voice of the LORD thundering from mount Sinai. Now, everyone should know about these outlawed forms of worship! Firstly, making images for the purpose of worshipping them is strictly prohibited, especially when it comes to making images of God or Jesus Christ. Secondarily, idolatrous worshippers can be easily identified as people who “bow down” to these images. Both the making and the worshipping of these images is forbidden in this commandment! Naturally, this is because doing the one will lead to the other. Therefore, people should not even attempt to make an image that depicts the similitude or likeness of Jesus Christ or God.
“Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female...” – Deut. 4:15-19
Have you ever seen Catholics bowing down to images of Jesus and Mary? Somehow, Catholics have been deceived to do the exact thing that is explicitly outlawed by God. Do your Catholic friends know about how the sin of idolatry is definitively revealed in the 2nd Commandment? Probably not. Coincidentally, the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church numbers the 10 Commandments differently, and this directs attention away from this clear prohibition in Exodus 20:4-6. In their reckoning of the 10 commandments, the 2nd commandment in Exodus 20:4-6 is combined with the 1st commandment in Exodus 20:3, but the same clear prohibitions are still present in Scripture.

Catholics will defend themselves by saying that they are honoring and venerating the images of Jesus and Mary, but they are not worshipping or adoring these images, even as they religiously bow down to them. Does that sound right to you? Call it what you want! Actions speak louder than words. If Catholics are doing what is explicitly forbidden in Exodus 20:4-6, by making and bowing down to images, then this is idolatry according to the Bible. Practicing this outlawed form of worship is especially concerning because even professing Christian idolaters are condemned to hell in the New Testament (1 Cor. 5:11, 6:9-10, 10:7, Eph. 5:5, Rev. 21:8, 22:15).

“Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.” – Isa. 2:8-9
Let the authority of Scripture speak for itself! It is the word of God. To “bow” or “fall down” before an image is an act of “worship” in the eyes of God (Isa. 2:8-9, 46:5-6; Ex. 20:4-6). Now, true to the word of the Prophet Isaiah, the land of Peru is full of idols in the name of Roman Catholicism! The scenery is eerily similar to the pagan civilizations of history. Images are on the high places of the hills and mountains (Lev. 26:30, Num. 22:41, 33:52, Deut. 12:2, 1 Kings 12:32, 13:2, Ezek. 6:6). Images are under the green trees of our gardens and groves in the plazas of our cities (1 Kings 14:22-23). All this is done in the name of Jesus Christ, even despite the fact that we are commanded not to worship God in this way.
Picture
“Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.” - Deu 12:2-4
We should not try to worship God by Christianizing the idolatry of paganism (Deut. 12:30-32). The “customs of the heathen” are vain (Jer. 10:1-7, 14-15). “Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.” (Deut. 12:4). We should not bring images into the House of God (Ezek. 5:11, 7:20, Jer. 7:30, 32:34)! Neither should we bring images into our own houses (Deut. 7:25-26, 27:15)! Otherwise, we will be condemned in the sight of God. Sadly, the people of Peru think that they are being blessed by the presence of these images, but the Word of God boldly states that we are being cursed (Deut. 7:26).
“To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?” - Isa. 40:18

“To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?” – Isa. 46:5

Idolatry is wrong because these images of Jesus Christ are created by men as the work of our hands (Ps. 115:4, 135:15). These images are insulting to God and misleading to men because none of them can correctly depict the likeness or appearance of Jesus Christ. Was Jesus Christ dark or light skinned? Did He have black or brown hair? Was he tall or short? The Son of God is not pleased to see Catholics bowing before the likeness of an imposter.
Picture
The whole situation is an embarrassment. The images are adorned with gold and silver, but God’s beauty is incomparable and indescribable (Isa. 40:18-19, 46:5-6). The images have mouths, but they cannot speak (Ps. 135:16). They have eyes but they cannot see (Ps. 135:16). They have ears but they cannot hear (Ps. 135:17). Neither is there any life in these images (Ps. 135:17)! Literally, they cannot move (Isa. 41:6-7). Therefore, the images are exalted on platforms, pillars, and high places in a vain show of worship that contradicts reality, as people forget about the invisible and highly exalted God of the universe who is sitting upon the circle of the earth (Isa. 40:21-22).
“To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.” – Isa. 40:18-23
Evidently, these practices do not help men worship the LORD by humbling them before God. These practices inflate the pride of men as they suppose they can make, carry, transport, and portray the image of God, and hereby invoke divine blessings upon people. These idols are carried and transported with great difficulty because of the heavy load (Isa. 46:1). Men are wearied under the burden in the processions throughout our cities. This is a deceptive show of worship because, in reality, all men are borne and carried by God (Isa. 46:1-6).
“Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.” – Isa. 41:24

“Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.” – Isa. 41:29

It’s time for Peru to wake up from this nightmare of confusion! The bewitching influence of idolatry is destroying our people. Employing images for worship is “profitable for nothing” (Isa. 44:10). The images of Senior de los Milagros (Cristo Moreno) are detestable abominations in the sight of God. The more we abhor them as cursed things, the better off we will be in Peru (Deut. 7:25-26). Therefore, the next time you see a procession of pilgrims going to the high place of a mountain to worship God, lovingly direct their attention to the words of the Lord Jesus Christ in John 4:20-24.
“Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” - John 4:20-24

The Awful Death of an Infidel Son

September, 1867
“I will never be guilty of founding my hopes for the future upon such a compiled mess of trash as is contained in that book (the Bible), mother. Talk of that being the production of an Infinite mind; a boy ten years of age, if he was half-witted, could have told a straighter story, and made a better book. I believe it to be the greatest mess of lies ever imposed upon the public. I would rather go to hell (if there is such a place) than have the name of bowing to that imposter – Jesus Christ – and be dependent on his merits for salvation.”

“Beware! Beware! My son, ‘for God is not mocked,’ although ‘He beareth with the wicked long, yet he will not keep His anger forever.’ And ‘all manner of sin shall be forgiven men, except the sin against the Holy Ghost, which has no forgiveness.’ And many are the examples, both in sacred and profane history, of men who have been smitten down in the midst of their sinning against that blessed Spirit.”

“Very well, father, I’ll risk all the cutting down that I shall get for cursing that book, and all the agonies connected therewith. Let it come, I’m not at all scared.”

“O Father, lay not this sin to his charge, for he knows not what he does.”

“Yes, I do know what I’m about, and what I say – and mean it.”

“John, do you mean to drive your mother raving distracted? Oh, my God, what have I done that this dreadful trial should come upon me in my old age?”

“Mother, if you don’t want to hear me speak my sentiments, why do you always begin the subject? If you do not want to hear it, don’t ever broach the subject again, for I shall never talk of that book, in any other way.”
The above conversation took place between two fond parents and an only son, who was at home on a visit from college, and now was about to return. And the cause of this outburst was, the kind-hearted Christian parents had essayed to give him a few words of kind admonition, which, alas, proved to be the last. And the above were his last words which he spoke to them as he left the house.

How anxiously those fond parents looked after him as though something told them that something dreadful would happen. What scalding tears were those that coursed their way down these furrowed cheeks! Oh, that they might have been put in the bottle of mercy! Poor, wretched young man, it had been better for him had the avalanche from the mountain crushed him beneath its deadly weight ere those words escaped his lips. Little did he think that He who said, “Honor thy father and mother,” and, “He that hardeneth his heart, and stiffeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy,” was soon going to call him to give an account for those words, so heart-rending to his aged parents, and so dreadful in the sight of a holy God. He had imbibed those dreadful principles from an infidel roommate at college. Beware, young men, with whom you associate, lest you fall as did this unfortunate young man.

John B. left his home and hastened to the depot where he took the cars which were to bear him to college where he was in a few months to finish his studies. The whistle blew, and away swept the cars “across the trembling plain.” But alas, they had gone but a few miles, when the cars, coming round a curve in a deep cut, came suddenly upon an obstruction on the track, which threw the engine and two of the cars at once from the rails.

As fate would seem to have it, the wicked son (John B.) was that moment passing between them. He was thrown in an instant from the platform, his left arm being broken, and his skull fractured by the fall; and in an instant one of the wheels passed directly over both his legs near the body, breaking and mangling them in the most dreadful manner. Strange as it may seem, no one else was injured. The dreadful news soon reached his already grief-stricken parents; and ere long that beloved, yet ungrateful son, was borne back to them; not as he left, but lying upon a litter a poor, mangled, raving maniac.

Why these pious parents were called to pass through this dreadful trial, He “whose ways are in the deep and past finding out,” only knows; except that by this sad example of His wrath many might be saved. Many skillful physicians were called, but the fiat of the Almighty had gone forth, and man could not recall it. When the news reached the college, his classmates hastened to see him. When they came, nature was fast sinking, but the immortal part was becoming dreadfully alive. Oh! That heartrending scene. His reason returning brought with it a dreadful sense of his situation. His first words were, and oh, may never mortal hear such a cry as that again upon the shores of time:

“Mother! I’m lost! Lost! Lost! Damned! Damned! Damned forever!” and as his classmates drew near to the bed, among whom was the one who had poisoned his mind with infidelity, with a dreadful effort he rose in the bed and cried, as he fixed his glaring eyes upon him: “J___, you have brought me to this, you have damned my soul! May the curses of the Almighty and the Lamb rest upon your soul forever.”

Then like a hellish fiend, he gnashed his teeth, and tried to get a hold of him that he might tear him in pieces. Then followed a scene from which the strongest fled with horror. But those poor parents had to hear and see it all, for he would not suffer them to be away a moment. He fell back upon his bed exhausted, crying, “O mother! Mother, get me some water to quench this fire that is burning me to death;” then he tore his hair and rent his breast; the fire had already begun to burn, the smoke of which shall ascend up for ever and ever.

And then again he cried, “O mother, save me, the devils have come after me. O mother, take me in your arms, and don’t let them have me.” And as his mother drew near to him, he buried his face in that fond bosom which had nourished and cherished him, but, alas, could not now protect or shield from the storm of the Almighty’s wrath, for he turned from her, and with an unearthly voice he shrieked, “Father! Mother! Father, save me; they come to drag my soul – my soul to hell.”

And with his eyes starting from their sockets, he fell back upon his bed a corpse. The spirit had fled – not like that of Lazarus, borne on the wings of a convoy of angels, but dragged by fiends to meet a fearful doom. May his dreadful fall prove a warning to those who would unwittingly walk in the same path.”

The Last Words of an Atheist!

The Awful Death of Sir Francis Newport

"Oh, the insufferable pangs of hell!"
Francis Newport was trained in early life to understand the great truths of the Gospel; and while in early manhood it was hoped that he would become an ornament and a blessing to his family and the nation, the result was far otherwise. He fell into company that corrupted his principles and his morals. He became an avowed infidel, and a life of dissipation soon brought on a disease that was incurable. When he felt that he must die, he threw himself on the bed, and after a brief pause, he exclaimed as follows:
“Whence this war in my heart? What argument is there now to assist me against matters of fact? Do I assert that there is no hell, while I feel one in my own bosom? Am I certain there is no after retribution, when I feel present judgment? Do I affirm my soul to be as mortal as my body, when this languishes, and that is vigorous as ever? O that any one would restore unto me that ancient gourd of piety and innocence! Wretch that I am, whither shall I flee from this breast? What will become of me?"

An infidel companion tried to dispel his thoughts, to whom he replied. “That there is a God, I know, because I continually feel the effects of His wrath; that there is a hell I am equally certain, having received an earnest of my inheritance already in my breast; that there is a natural conscience I now feel with horror and amazement, being continually upbraided by it with my impieties, and all my iniquities, and all my sins brought to my remembrance. Why God has marked me out for an example of His vengeance, rather than you, or any one of my acquaintances, I presume is because I have been more religiously educated, and have done greater despite to the Spirit of grace. O that I was to lie upon the fire that is never quenched for a thousand years, to purchase the favor of God and be reunited with Him again! But it is a fruitless wish. Millions of millions of years will bring me no nearer to the end of my torments than one poor hour. O, eternity, eternity! Who can discover the abyss of eternity? Who can paraphrase upon these words – forever and ever?”

Lest his friends should think him insane, he said: “You imagine me melancholy, or distracted. I wish I were either; but it is part of my judgment that I am not. No; my apprehension of persons and things is more quick and vigorous than it was when I was in perfect health; and it is my curse, because I am thereby more sensible of the condition I am fallen into. Would you be informed why I am become a skeleton in three or four days? See now, then. I have despised my Maker, and denied my Redeemer. I have joined myself to the atheist and profane, and continued this course under many convictions, till my iniquity was ripe for vengeance, and the just judgment of God overtook me when my security was the greatest, and the checks of my conscience were the least.”

As his mental distress and bodily disease were hurrying him into eternity, he was asked if he would have prayer offered in his behalf; he turned his face, and exclaimed, “Tigers and monsters! Are ye also become devils to torment me? Would ye give me prospect of heaven to make my hell more intolerable?”

Soon after, his voice falling, and uttering a groan of inexpressible horror, he cried out, “OH, THE INSUFFERABLE PANGS OF HELL!” and died at once, dropping into the very hell of which God gave him such an awful earnest, to be a constant warning to multitudes of careless sinners.
