When a famous Celebrity Preacher like Ravi Zacharias is exposed to be a serial womanizer and a worldwide sexual predator, the word hypocrisy is an understatement. The shock and awe created in the fallout of this discovery has left millions of people speechless with horror. Everyone keeps wondering, "How can this be?".
In reality, this isn't about Ravi Zacharias as a man. This is about the brand of "Christianity" that he championed around the world. The haunting question, "How can this be?", torments millions of people all over the world because Ravi was a hero of "the faith" in Modern Christianity. What are the people supposed to think when their very own heroes are found out to be frauds? Well, they should question the brand of Christianity that they have come to believe at the mouth of corrupt Preachers.
"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." - Matt. 15:14
If you were one of Ravi Zacharias' followers, then now is a good time to examine yourself (2 Cor. 13:5). If the leader is blind then so are the followers! This is a spiritual law. In other words, whatever Ravi was preaching and promoting apparently wasn't saving him, and if it wasn't saving him then it wasn't saving those that hear him. This is a spiritual law. For the same reason, Paul said to Timothy, "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." (1 Tim. 4:16). Hearers are followers. The right message will not proceed forth from a wrong messenger. A biblical version of Christianity will produce biblical Christians. A true version of Christianity will produce true Christians. What about you?
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" - 2 Cor. 13:5
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." - Matt. 7:15-20
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity." - Matt. 23:27-28
When hypocrisy is exposed and bad fruit becomes visible, the deception loses its bewitching power upon the people. When God cracks-open the beautiful coffin of a world-renowned Preacher, it is so that the whole world might smell the stench of the rotting hypocrisy that was hidden inside (Matt. 23:27-28). This is an act of love! Why? Because the deceiver and the deceived possess a shared fate. The leader and the follower are doomed together. Nevertheless, if the people are suddenly made aware of the smell of death, as it enters into their nostrils, the sheer power of the stench will drive them away from dangerous false Prophets who promote a modernized, corrupt, and unbiblical version of "Christianity".
